SRC and G&G body compatibility
I need to buy a new body for my G&G M4 and I don't have the money for a metal body. So in the meantime I found a SRC plastic lower. I just want to confirm whether SRC parts fit with G&G. Thanks.

Ive found that mix matching receiver brands does not work. The parts just have to be off by less than a mm to not fit correctly

Be really careful about that body.
From personal experience, I'd suggest benching that gun until you can get a metal lower if you have a backup, and then getting a full body kit (upper/ lower) when you do get a Metal body. Then I'd suggest being really careful when you do get that metal body; you will have to do a lot of sanding if you get anything but a G&G body, and it will be painful. If you have a pneumatic blowback M4 you will have to disassemble the mechbox. If you have no experience in doing this kind of work I would strongly suggest sending it to a good guntech and being ready to fork-out. Welcome to G&G Armalite ownership. |

SRC's are TM compatible. G&g's not so much. Most G&G guns use proprietary parts which arn't usually compatible with other brands

SRC lowers are usually taller on the top ridge then others (TM, G&P, Cyma, even G&G) ... not a big factor if your willing to to some filling or sanding
if your not comfortable sand/filling/fitting the upper to the lower of different brands (it's only a couple mm's total... but you will have to take some off the upper and off the lower... and possibly if it's a metal G&G upper you'll have to shave the tabs at the back that grab the lower. ) .. then it's a good idea to wait till you can grab a whole receiver set .. or just a g&g lower to match your existing upper I've been doing alot of G&P receiver set/peices matching the past year .. and it can be really frustrating .. LOL

In my experience, SRC receivers are very brittle. I had a tinted lower crack at the front pin hole after one.game

Did you really mean to say G&G and not thinking of some other brand? I have almost 100% turned over all the parts in my G&G and they are all TM-spec, with absolutely no fitting issues at all. Others here have said G&G is fine on TM compatibility and take almost any parts out there.. I also had no trouble fitting my G&G gearbox into my G&P body and my G&P gearbox into my G&G's body. Your statement doesn't jive with my experience or reading.

TM hop up style is different then G&G.. the lower receiver is designed differently... you will have to cut a SRC or TM lower (with a 2peice hop up) to fit a G&G ...
and remember we are speaking replacing a LOWER only not a whole receiver set... brand to brand upper to lower mate up can be a big pain, real fast. and I can already tell you personally that G&G uppers don't mate to G&P lowers without some grinding/filing...
