That's what I hate most about people that complain all summer long.
It's -5, the sun is out, you'll be HOT after 5 minutes of running There's no bugs There's no poison ivy There's no humidity There's no rain and rarely any snow There's no puddles It's not 40 degrees out You've been complaining about all of the above all summer, what excuse do you have NOT to come play airsoft? lol |

Me and another member of my group both blew the front's off our king arms V2's in -2c, ran other boxes in -15c with no issues though.

The temperatures for incurring damage varies by manufacturer.
This is simply due to the different materials used in different guns. Pot metal vs Aluminum or steel, plastic vs carbon plastics etc. Ive ran TM's and custom built guns in -25/-30 weather in the past, while other players with Dboys and JG had mechbox blowouts. Sorbos make a huge difference as well. For example, G&P Crane Stock NiCad 9.6v 1800ma in a 390fps C7 Marksman Rifle, one battery lasted me approximately 4 hours on semi auto That same day, a Sanyo 8.4v 800ma Mini Batt in a TM MP5 lasted me approximately 100 rounds on full auto. I can also report that Ive seen and had issues with hop up rubbers at that temperature, frequent jams and some which just wont cycle at all. I would also be weary about running brass or metal 6.01's in that temperature, especially if you're using BB's with looser QC or tolerances. Pics of said -30 game Custom C7 Marksman Rifle TM MP5

Guarder Clear hopup rubbers aren't affected as much by the cold. Seems that silicone stays much softer than rubber. I don't see any significant cold weather degradation in hopup performance in my Guarder Clear equipped guns compared to my other guns.
And if your gun has a V2 mechbox, it's probably safer to use semi-auto only in cold weather to prevent snapping the front of your mechbox shell.

I should also mention, that I run GBB's during the winter. I was rockin my TM Hicapa 4.3
Could easily get 1/2 a mag at that temperature still. During normal winter games ~-5/-15 I can easily run through an entire mag.

I use my TM F 5-7 in winter and it works great. I can get 2+ mags of BBs off with a single gas charge. I've used it in -10ÂșC and below weather without any perceivable performance decrease over warm weather use.
The biggest surprise was losing a mag in the snow once. I found the very cold mag a couple of hours later, popped it in the gun, emptied the full mag of BBs without issue, refilled, repeated. It will had enough gas to properly cycle after 2 full mags of BBs. Plastic slide + oversized mags make it awesome as a winter pistol.

aye .. my TM De's don't mind the cold though being a lil more worn I generally only get a lil over 1 mag of bb's and I have to drop down to .25's from my normal .28's
I took my Shrike/LMG M4 into the cold (around 3-5degrees) .. didn't have any running issues with the gun itself.. but I run a CA reinforced V2 box, and I only run a 110 spring... battery was fine.. infact the game was like a month ago and large 9.6 3800 MAH still has juice in it however the lil bitty battery in the box mag was starting to get pissy around the 4K round mark... ... though I'll admit once we get close to zero temps here on the island (it's a WET chill to the bone fast cold... serious) I can think of better warmer things to be doing most of the people I see with issues are heavy springs or high ROF/heavy trigger fingers and small batteries ... however I'm sure there are people outside that "norm" as for playing in the snow... I have to admit the few time I have done it... theres something to be said for the ability to hammer at a tree limb above someone you can't get a shot on.... and dump a few pounds of snow on their head ...
