Open VS Closed Bolt?
I've been looking at gbbrs, and i've noticed some say open bolt, while others say closed. What's the difference?

Closed bolt is where there is a brass tube in the breach of the gun. This is the older awss WE system. Open bolt or open chamber is the new WE system. There is no brass tube.

Go with the open bolt as that will be the standard and parts for the closed system will be obsolete. There are many threads regarding the two system on this site, so spend a few minutes and search for them. They should answer everything you need to know about the two system.

I've recently been looking at gbbrs too and i thought this vid was pretty informative about open vs closed bolt.
WE M4 GBBR gas blowback rifle review Part 1 - YouTube I'd go with open bolt tho. As HKGhost said, the future of GBBRs lies in the open bolt. Close bolts will eventually die off as more ppl would rather have an open bolt system. |
