Mauser SR Pro Tactical Accuracy Help
I just bought the gun from Torontoairsoft, and I dont seem to be able to adjust the hop up on it. Every shot goes WAY to high, I have tested with .25 and .28g BB's.

re-drill the plastic end cap of the outer barrel. Mine had the same problem. Turns out it was a small piece of plastic sricking out in front of the barrel.

I tried taking the end off, that didnt seem to make any difference.

Did you clean the inner barrel?

I'm still new at airsoft so I haven't dared to take it apart. I will try to take it apart, is there anything I should be careful of? How do I properly clean it?

just take the unjamming rod, slide some tissue paper in the slotted end and go back and forth from end to end of the inner barrel, but be careful to not go through the hop-up chamber so to not damage it

Unfortunatley cleaning it did not work either. Changing the hop up still makes no difference. The scope is adjusted as far up as possible. It still shoots too high.

On youtube I see people with the same gun that have to unload the gun and adjust the hop up with two bolts, one for vertical adjustment and one for horizontal. My gun only has one and it is located above the mag so I can keep it loaded. Is there something missing on my gun?

No, those people have an aftermarket hopup unit for L96's.
If you don't know how to fix it, take it to a gun doctor. |

In case your interested, Ive owned that gun for a few years, the stock hop up unit and bucking are garbage, mainly the bucking which there are no replacements for, its a one of a kind bucking. I bought a replacement hop up unit from cobra airsoft.com, it was around $30 and it allows you to use standard AEG buckings and barrels. Looking back I wish I would have bought the PDI unit for 30$ or so more, its way better, you can adjust hop, up down left and right which is perfect for a sniper rifle. I also have a few left over parts for sale for this rifle if your interested, I have 2 heavy duty metal trigger box's(stock ones are plastic and will break if you try to upgrade) a full metal FPS upgrade kit(aluminium piston/aluminium ball bearing spring guide/high power spring(440FPS with .40g bbs)
As for the gun, it comes stock with a desperate need for upgrading unfortunately, but mine was quite good after a new hop/bucking/tight bore/upgrade kit. |

After taking the gun apart, giving it a bit of a wipe down, reassembling it, and realigning the scope, the gun seems to shoot well now.
Thank you everyone for your help, it is greatly appreciated. Another question, What would help give the gun more consistent shots? I am noticing some shots are perfect, but most veer off to the side or go really high up. Last edited by woodrow15; April 28th, 2012 at 20:56.. |

also, I am finding the .28g BB's are less consistent than the .40g BB's, but they all have the same problem.

either just a pdi hop-up and a tightbore barrel or a complete upgrade which leaves only the stock that is...well...stock. it's either ~200$ or 1200$

Ok, I will look into a pdi hop up, Where is the best place to get it? Is it easy to install for someone who has never done it before?
