Question G&G Raider Blowback - Short Battery Life?

A local kid has a brand new G&G M4 Blowback that has a problem where the battery dies after about 500 shots or so. The motor sounds like it's struggling, but it's only a 315fps gun. Contacted a tech and he said it might be a warranty issue with the motor, but we swapped the motor out for another one, and the same problem is present.

All the wiring into the gearbox seems fine. It's brand new. Tried two different batteries, and they both die after a couple high-caps. Motor height has no influence on the sound it's making, nor does then new motor. His FPS seems ok, so I'm doubting the piston is binding on the inside of the gearbox, so I'm thinking it was just a really bad shim job.

Anyone have any input before we open the gearbox? I have worked on my V2 gearbox like 15 times, so I'm comfortable doing the work. Just wondering what I should be looking for.

When you open the gear box I would look at the ware on the shims and bushing. and if there was grease between the shim and the bushing. if it was to tight there will not be a spec of grease and the bushing will have a shine to it like it was polished. The last time I did my shim I shimed and then left the spring out full reassembled and moved the gears by hand to check they moved freely.

What kind of battery and capacity (make, volt, mah)? What kind of charger? How are the batteries being charged (be specific)?

How is the RoF between new battery and the end?

If he's dropping a battery in and it's dying so quickly, I suspect improperly charged batteries, or damaged batteries if he's using a wall wart charger. Or he's got a short somewhere in the trigger assembly.

If it's a mini battery, it will only last 2-4 highcaps before running out of juice
What kind of charger is this kid using?

Most common problems with what you're describing are bad chargers, bad batteries, incorrect expectations of performance, or bad motors

the stock g&g batteries are those little 1400mah 9.6's.. brand new not too bad, a few charges old and they don't last long at all.. have had a few of them. now the one i still have will have enough charge to run a few mid caps through it with my ascu and a m90 spring before it shuts down for low battery

The batteries are Tenergy 9.6v/1600mAh nunchuck batteries.
