F2000 Spring Change
Hi Folks,
Looking for some solid information on spring changes for the F2000. I haven't been able to track anything at all down on the web. This gun is fantastic (BTW) - it is VERY accurate. It has an adjustable FPS screw exposed on the back if you remove the butt plate. It changes it by about 10% or so. At it's hottest, this beauty is shooting at 340 fps with .25's. I don't use .20's, especially outside. I would like to get a spring in there that would make it shoot right around 400fps for outdoor games, and allow me to decrease teh velocity to down around 340-350 fps for CQB. I'm not experienced enough to know which spring to use, or how to change the spring in this one. I was able to figure out the M4 easily enough, so, with a nudge in the correct direction I don't see this being any more difficult. I was hoping that by releasing the spring tension screw all the way out that the spring would just pop out.

Buddy of mine has one of those and made a spreadsheet with FPS info for different spring and adjustment screw combinations.. Looks like the included downgrade spring that comes with the max kits (said to be a G&G M120) gets you 403 with the spring full in, 382 with it full out.
For reference a Modify 110 gets 388 full in and 344 full out. |

Perhaps that is the one to go for, and shoot .20's. I wonder what .25's would require for that those velocities. They are right in where I would like it to be

Well, the 120 will get you under 400 on .2 so that's all you need to pass chrono at the field.. Then load it with whatever weight you like.
Oh and I didnt notice you had also mentioned CQB.. for what it's worth: Prometheus MS90 = 341/289 Modify S90 = 327/271 Modify S100 = 361/296 Modify S110 = 388/344 |

You are already shooting at the right FPS...
340 with .25 is about 380 with .20... There is no difference in range between 380 and 400. But accuracy start to decrease at that point. Your gun is already on the spot for outdoors. And it's already accurate as you say, why fix something that is not broken (especially since it won't make it better in any way). |

I was hoping the longer barrel would equate to better range, which I guess is spring related as well given what I'm learning here. The accurracy of this AEG is phenominal though. A cheap reflex site and she is rocking. Can't wait to get it out to the field.
