double battery toggle switch?
I was looking around and noticed someone else had the same question...
http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/lo...p/t223246.html basically does anyone know of an "actual" toggle switch that exists for having 2 batteries in your gun, so that one dies you can flip the other one on without unplugging? at first is sounds stupid but, where the interesting part would be is a low volt battery and a high volt, so you could change your rate of fire on the fly maybe? I also like the look of my peq battery box on my gun but I dont really need it anymore with the lipos I have now lol. It be nice for it to serve a purpose lol

How about ANY toggle switch that can take 20+ amps DC.... (that would be a 5A or so in AC)...
Did you even read the thread you linked? It explains exactly how to do it. |

I was looking to see if anyone knows if this exists as an actual product that one may purchase

It's a switch!
You can purchase it at any TheSource or electronics components store... You can even order it online. Here, since apparently that is what you are asking: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/M...rpXFBB4WwNU%3d And if you mean the wires, they also can be bought at the same stores/sites. You only have to attach the positive going to the battery (from your gun) to the neutral pole on the switch, and wires going to either battery positive. And finally tie all 3 negatives.

I appologize, i should have been more clear, i was inquiring if something like this exists as an airsoft product or rc cars, something prewired with deans perhaps and sold for this reason.
Making it myself seems easy enough i was just curious.

buy the conectors switch and some wire, and make one that you can just plug the batteries into. it would be super easy
its not rocket surgery |

Doesn't exist as you describe (for AEGs so far as I know). Some guns are dual wired for front and rear (some AK's for example).
Sounds cool...but unnecessary (although that shouldn't stop you). Be cautious about choosing a switch that's more than capable of handling the current you're going to pass through it. The worst thing you could do is to create a short where you toast your battery and blow them...so factor that in as well. |

What kind of gun have you got that's got room for extra batteries, another harness, and a spot to place a switch?
You could always go lo-tech, get the Ares grease gun and have different batteries in some of the mags.

Any particular reason you want a switch, versus just running the (two identical) batteries in parallel for effectively double battery life? This is a common feat in the RC world... and there are cable prewired for it:

that won't work either, he wants an airsoft specific switch.
Give me a day, I'll go to the source, pickup a switch, throw in some wires and heat shrink, and re-market it at 10x original cost as an airsoft specific battery switch! Anyway the switch may add a ridiculous amount of resistance, lowering your battery life by a noticeable amount. If you're worried about battery life and don't already have a MOSFET switch and upgraded wiring, you should get that done first. |
