Duracoat
Hey community,
I've done some google searches already and am waiting to hear back from some people, but I was wondering if anyone here knows (either from first or second hand experience) of a Duracoat finisher in Ontario? |

There is pretty much a duracoat finisher in any major city on ontario. Its not really a specialized thing just to duracoat guns people also do it on cars. My advice would be to do a google search for a duracoat finisher in your area. If you are in a major city there is probably one just down the street. Also check automotive paint shops, they could do it for you.

E, no RM doesnt do it himself, he had it done by a Firearms Finisher down in the states (where he lives).
I found a place in Thunder Bay that apparently does it according to some old posts on another forum from back in 08, so i'm waiting to hear back from them. Same with another guy in sauga, again from a post in 08 As for doing a google search, it doesn't yield much at all. Yeah i'm going to ask some paint/body shops around if I cant get it done by a firearms finisher. |

Just out of curiosity what kind of look are you going for and what colour? Solid or multi colours?

ah I see.
There are a couple in the Western region. There's a place I've been checking it out for a while in Toronto but I havent actaully contacted them yet. Nor do I know if they are still in business. This place here: http://www.toronto.net/directory/X79B.html I forget if you are in Toronto central area or Scarborough. But Lawrence and Caldedonia is not too far from either location. One subway ride away!!!! Plus it's right off the 401. Or I could've have mistaken your address for someone else....

I'm out in Waterloo. lol.
From what I saw on Trend Colour Labs, they do duracoating for photos, enlargements only. |

lol. Oh I see. sorry I'me very bad at remembering things like that.
Anyways, Try QuarterMasters Paintball. I think they do duracoats on airsoft stuff and paintball. Plus they are located in Oshawa so shipping won't be as bad Here's their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/QuarterMasterPaintball Hope that helps.

UPDATE: found a place called GMK Armoury up in Thunder Bay, They are a bit further than I had hoped but they do finishing on actual firearms and have extensive resources and knowledge so I will be doing it through them.
So sometime in November or December when I am too busy with school, I will send my slides out to get stripped and duracoated =D. Will post some pics eventually of before and after. Kinda sad to see the TF141 & Jolly Roger decals go but I think it'll be worth it. |

Looking for forward to the results of this build, Shift!!!!!!
Though, the pirate thing kinda gave the gun a bit of character, don't you think?. How much are these guys charging anyways?

yeah i'm definitely excited for the build to end. But because i love the slide so much and I dont want to give it up yet, I'll hold on to it for now. (The pirate decal is awesome, might just have to get it engraved before I send out the slide for duracoating). It looks even better with my new stainless steel barrel, the action is much smoother, cycles well.
They're charging $65 + HST + Shipping, which isn't bad at all. |
