is it the headset, ptt, or Radio?

so i recently got a new set of z-tactical/bowman headset and round button ptt for my Motorola TALKABOUT T9580R SAME. I got all excited and plugged them in but seems like there has been problems....

when i press the ptt neither my radio nor my headset will display sound or light indicating that the the system is functioning, i tried getting a refund from airsoftpark.com but even with the new radios i was unable to solve this "connection issue".

can someone help me out?

well the radio works wonders on it's own. the external mic does not need to be turned on for it uses the same power system which is connected to the ptt and radio.

i tried the same thing with my buddie's swimmer headset but still nothing.

Are you plugging in before you turn the radio on?

Does the headset work on any other radio?

Sounds like you're buying a new radio in the near future.

I had this same issue but the problem I found was the PTT. The PTT was a single pin (which is what my radio is) but it was meant for a Cobra radio. Everything plugs in just fine and appears as if it should work. I bought a new PTT for Motorola single pins and it worked perfectly.

I currently run an Element Bowman style headset, a TCI PTT, and a Motorola Talkabout. Check out airsoft-club.com. I got my new TCI PTT there for $20+shipping.

Best of luck to you!

Yeah it works fine. Its a little tight after extended use but it works great. When I was running my IBH they worked great and even when I bought my FAST helmet they fit but were just slightly tighter. Hope everything works out for you!
