Type 97 rail question?
Eh guys i've decided on getting the type 97 because of the quality of the internal's and externals, m16/m4 compatible mags, and noob friendly gearbox. the only thing i dont like is that you cant mount a flashlight and lazer on it so i did alittle searching and i found a barrel mount http://www.lightjunction.com/mountin...dcff799df2c46a and i was wondering if you guys think the barrel for the type 97 is strong enough to have a small light and lazer. also i found this which looks like a good backup plan so i can atleast mount a light.http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.12000. waddayah think?

Unless your night gaming or in CQB (even then) lights and lasers may seem "cool", yet in fact they're not very useful. Many sites prohibit lasers as they can be hazardous to the eye.
I thought they'd be cool too, then realized there is no use for them in an actual game setting. Note: Also the Type 97 uses proprietary Real Sword Magazine, so no TM magazines.

yeah i was wanting the light and lazer more for the cool factor i guess and i just watched a review from Jarek4 guy from red dragon airsoft and i noticed that the hand grip was pretty short and couldnt fit that velcro mount. aswell im pretty sure the type 97 is TM mag friendly seeing how Jarek was using a G&G mag and said it had no wobble, im hoping that matrix metal works so im going to do some searching.

Also remember, as cool as they may be, They both give your position away, probably before you find anyone else.

Jarek is a retailer and a tool don't trust the man to tell you anything but what you want to hear so he can sell his product. REAL SWORD has stated with verification that most manufacturers STANAG style magazines will function and feed into the type 97 |

My Type 97B ran perfect on all sorta of different magazines. Also, Jarek is full of a bunch of misinformation.... but at least he was able to put a magazine into a gun and confirm it works |

you need the real type 95/97 RIS system, those crappy barrel mount is a insult to the very basic nature of any gun.
unfortunately, the company is on the contract with the Chinese Government atm, even myself can't get them in here for now, if you want one, you need to wait...
