Well MB4401 (TM96 sniper) spring not staying compressed
I knew I was gonna have to upgrade this rifle but I was hoping to get a little further into the season. After about 230 BBs shot, I'm having an issue with spring compression.
When pulling the bolt back to compress the spring, instead of the spring remaining compressed there's a skipping feel and sound which leaves the spring in the same state of resistance as when pulling the bolt. I have not had a chance to open the rifle and have a look but I figured someone here might point be in the direction of what to look for first. I was thinking the trigger box was probably the issue as I presume it's what's normally holding back the spring in the compressed position. Am I right to assume this?

Sounds like the trigger sear broke. That is almost always the first part to snap on these guns.

Sounds like the sear and or piston is worn. Common problem with bolt actions and three things needed for reliability for all BA setups (piston trigger sear and piston sear aka 1st and 2nd sear)
Just replace it all at once. If you do the sears and it turns out its the piston youll do it twice. If its the sear and you replace it the piston will go next. Here is your options. (i just looked quick so id see if i could find the laylax seccond sear too to avoid fitment issues. Tho you will likely have issues fitting to a clone sometimes it works out well.) You could also go PDI but i like me some laylax parts. Mah vsr is all laylax and its sweet. Thanks guys. I had already figured yesterday I might as well just get the Laylax trigger box/piston combo. There didn't seem to be anything worn out when I opened the rifle but hey...can't fight the airsoft gods. When they say spend, you shut up and spend.
