WE M14 Mock Wood GBBR

I have recently been eyeballing the WE Tech M14 and was wondering if its any good my M16s gearbox cracked and I am sick of all the parts I need to fix it because the costs pile up fast and was wondering if gas guns are cheaper in the long run because they have less parts and what issues they have and if they are any good for in an airsoft battle. And I want to power this gun off of propane because its cheaper than Green Gas. I have been doing research and it looks pretty good so far I just want to know if its worth the money or not.

Getting a WE gun because you dont want to fix things or itll be cheaper is a bad idea.

WE gats break so often, good thing is you can get steel replacement parts(Which are super expensive) and most gas mags are 40-65 bucks each. Getting the WE m14 to be gameable and actually last will cost you a hell of a lot more than fixing your AEG.

Good news is before it breaks itll be super fun! The kick on those M14's is amazing.

Even the most reliable GBBRs will always cost many times what an AEG does in time and money to keep running, period.

Apparently these guns need to be tuned or something before gaming what kind of tuning other than the hop up do they require?

Well because after you get one you'll start dumping all your AEGs and get a bunch of gas guns.

Then you're going to find out you need real optics for them all and hardware and more and more mags and so on.

It's not pretty.

AEGs can be kept going for a reasonable price if you buy quality and use a solid gun doc for the work.

GBBRs are inherently more expensive, period. Mags are $40 - $80 a piece, they become temperamental in temperature variances, including but not limited to leaking, failure to cycle and severe FPS swing. They can be fun and rewarding as well, but make sure you have the funds and time to deal with it. Almost anyone on here wouldveeccomend mastering and owning a solid AEG as a backup before wading into the world of GBBRs.

Onto the WE M14 open bolt. It's definately one of the coolest and most realistic GBBRs ever made. GBBRs, and WE is no exception, can be hard on themselves, so guides like to snap, nozzles like to wear out, and bolts like to jam. Luckily RA-Tech makes a full host of precision upgrade parts for guns like the WE M14. You can make this gun hella cool and very accurate. However there is a huge downside. The parts and mags, by the time all is said and done, is quite expensive. In fact RA-Tech makes a fully upgraded version you can buy already assembled, and just for the gun is around $1,100 - $1,700, depending on the version you get. It's actually more expensive by a good chunk to buy the stock gun and just upgrade it. Next, the WE M14 is long and heavy, and I mean heavy, for an airsoft gun. Not to mention finding WE or RA-Tech parts in Canada is difficult, and finding them in stock is even harder.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I have heard that RA tech makes pretty good parts and I can buy them on evike.com they are expensive but seem to be really good so I will definitely be upgrading in the future. I don't really mind it being long and heavy its what I want because I am 6 foot 3 and I found my m16 kinda small
