AK-74 CM.031 top rail installation (CM.07)

So I bought a CYMA CM.031C and I'm trying to install their AK-74 aluminum railed hand guard top piece: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/cyma-ak74...l#.VRnSj_nF8wA

I'm having a serious problem and I can't find any dis-assembly videos related to my particular gun - which blows my mind since it's just an AK74 and should be common right?

Whenever people remove the top handguard in other AK (probably 47) videos, it seems as if the gas tube comes off with it, but mine is PART of the body and needs to have the front of the gas tube removed or just slid forward to be able to get this thing on. Under the front of the gas tube, there's a grub screw or something that needs to be loosened to do this. Annoyingly, the fake cleaning rod is blocking that. Usually you need to pull this rod out of the front, but there seems to be a screw or some sort of piece in the way. It seems to have no threads on the inside of it for a hex/torx key to grip, so I can't remove this screw/piece. I've tried all sorts of hex/torx bits to no avail. I haven't stripped it either because I haven't tried turning anything inside that could accidentally strip it. So - now I'm completely stuck and don't know how to go about installing this.

Sites claim it "installs in a matter of minutes" - maybe I'm doing something wrong? CYMA has like 100 AK models and they're not at all the same. If anyone has any experience installing this piece on my specific AK or can provide any advice, I would greatly appreciate it!

I actually just stumbled upon this just now as well. It's just tough when you are frustrated and have 100 tabs open as well, lol. I'll see how this goes.

I believe it will not work on that model, this is for the newer version AK's that are similar to LCT and have a removable gas tube. The version you have has the hexagonal support under the foregrip which is integral for barrel stabilization of the front end.
