G&G cm16 raider upgrade?

Hi I am new to the sport! Found I really love it though. I love the cm 16 raider! I know there is much better out there, but this is my first gun and I want to upgrade the internals to increase my accuracy, range and rof!
What should I do? Or am I being really dumb for wanting to do this! Be honest I won't take offence.

Hey there. First off. The raider is a great gun. Beginner or otherwise. I have the same one and I may have put more money into it than necessary but im happy with it and it shoots lasers.

The short answer to your upgrade question is a tight bore barrel and a new motor.

Most people would recommend a new bucking but the raider comes with the G&G green bucking already which is pretty good. A tigt bore barrel at 6.03 bore will tighten up your groupings a little bit more.

Motor. I suggest the SHS high torque. Even tho its not the high speed variant. Its still leaps and bounds faster and torquier than the stock one. This will increase ROF and trigger response.

Alsi use a 9.6v nihn battery if you are not doing so already.

There are so many other things you can do but that should get you started. I've done so many things to mine that you can't even call it a raider anymore.

accuracy get a good barrel
rof - get a lipo battery (11.1v), a better motor, mosfet

mosfet and a 11.1v lipo makes a big difference in terms of ROF
personally don't like high ROF, so I use 7.4V and stock motor..

well tbh, you probably would want a better gun body later on when you are more into the sport. just keep the stock G&G internals somewhere safe and when time comes you can just swap the upgraded parts out and use in a new gun.

I do want a new gun. Lmg, but ur right I think I will save the parts. What type of barrel, motor, and mosfet do you run. I also use a 9.6v battery.

I just run a madbull 6.03 tightbore, stock motor and no mosfet
I don't want high ROF so i kept using 7.4v lipo which doesn't need a mosfet. But since I'm gonna do some work on it soon, I might just buy a burst wizard and hardwire it to allow me to burst instead of full auto (waste of bbs).

if you are going to run mosfet..get a 11.1v lipo..this alone will increase ROF

My stock gun is KA Colt M4 and had most of the externals beside the receiver replaced

Short and sweet:
Tighter groupings -> promy/pdi inner barrel (6.03 is what I recommend)
-flathop using modify/promy purple bucking

range-> better your air seal using double oring parts like cylinder head, piston head, using Teflon tape mod and dental floss mod on the hop bucking
-heavier bbs (.28g at least, I recommend the .3g bbbastards)
-Make sure your nozzle is aligned properly

Rof-> I wouldn't worry about rof, try to get better trigger response instead, rof will be fine if the correct parts are used in conjunction with one another

Trigger response-> high TORQUE motor (lonex Titan motor is what I use)
- have your gearbox shimmed properly by someone who knows how to do it and has a good number of people who can vouch for them (more than a half dozen)
-MOSFET (can't beat a black talon concept spectre MOSFET)
-lipo battery (7.4v/2cell minimum)
-correct the angle of engagement on your piston
-use high SPEED gears
-experiment using different cylinder cuts with different strength springs (find a cylinder that will allow you to use the weakest spring you can find without sacrificing velocity)

Doing all the above, you will have one hell of an aeg's on your hands.
