AR500 Mandalorian ballistic armor

So I was told about this last week by Marnius and just could not believe they finally made something like this. But low and behold I am a believer now that I have seen it for the first time in a shotshow 2016 video.

I still could not believe it existed so I found this article with more pictures of it in different colors and angles.

I am curious to see what the feed back from the community is on this since it was originally for cos play and airsoft. Would you buy this for airsoft or even outfit a country's army in it for combat. I wanted to put these questions up to see what everyone else thinks about its application on the airsoft field and a real battlefield?

I think it's cool. I'm not sure how well it would survive the 'stress test' of a milsim game, but the irony in this case is that any battle damage would just add character. I'd love to see something like it at the Fallout themed game we have in Ottawa on the Brotherhood side.

As for pure practicality other have mentioned the visor would limit visibility on the best of days and the NV monocular wouldn't work with it... though even money it's a dummy version.

An Aussie buddy of mine had a full set of custom storm trooper armour made by a prop studio in England. They also do boba fett costumes by commission but they are flipping expensive and I highly doubt the visors are impact rated

I would have to agree with it not being practical yet for a serious milsim. Seems like it's best fit is in a themed game for sure as it stands now. It gives me hope that armor designers are now looking out of the box for the next generation of body armor. Maybe having hard shoulder plates or grieve type leg armor to cover the front of the leg and the femoral art from being harmed would be a great idea(Real Combat) if it had a attachment point for say a leg holster build somewhere into it(For airsoft or real combat). Out of the box ideas with this concept is what I am most looking forward to seeing more of the future myself.

Also if they hacked off the cheek plate part of the face plate and sold just the T visor for the helmet attachment I would buy that for airsoft immediately if the glass was impact resistant and thermal and had the attachment point to hook up to any op's core, airframe or ACH type helmet like it does with the Team Wendy helmet it is attached it now in the photos. Would anyone else want this part to wear it in game or any other part of the armor?

Here's the airsoft version by Ryan Flowers that started all this.
