Looking to Play

Hello everyone! I've recently decided to give Airsoft a trial run to see how I like it and I just have a few simple questions.

I live pretty close to the heart of the grand old city of Toronto.

I just wanted to know what field in your opinion is best for a beginner to head to. As well as if anybody has a group that meets up every so often that wouldn't mind a noob tagging along to learn the ropes and have some fun!

My recommendation is to go to any field with walk-ons/skirmish days. I've played Siege, it's great. I also play a variety of outdoor fields, including Storm the Beach near Peterborough, Rapidfire near Picton and others. Heading to Clarington Woods tomorrow, actually. Once you have a feel for the game, start researching some milsim events...it's a totally different type of game than skirmish days.

Once you get to a field, let players know it's your first time, or that you are a noob. In my experience, most players are willing to help noobs learn, and maybe let them hold their airsoft guns to get a feel for the different types of guns if you don't have one yet. We remember being new once, too. Just remember that you have one mouth and two ears for a reason...keep the attitude to a minimum, and you will have a great time.

I just played my first day of skirmish games at my local field for the first time last week and its an amazing game to get into!

Ive heard from a lot of guys in Ontario that Siege is a geat place to go to for a lot of reasons

Find a place where you can rent gear for like ~50 bucks which usually includes most of the gear you need to start (then throw on a pair of good shoes/boots and pants/shirt and you're good to go.


As for playing with a group, if you cant find anyone specific just show up on a skirmish day and don't be shy. I went completely solo and met a few good guys and girls and ended up running with a couple different random groups of players throughout the day as the games went on. I've noticed a lot of airsoft players are great people who love to talk airsoft and dont mind helping you out.

Thanks for sharing RickGrimesWho! I'm definitely getting a good vibe from the community here on ASC and it's making me want to get into the sport even more! Can't wait to hit up a field and start learning the ropes (and fragging some guys as well XD).
