Can you plant 203 on top rail of....

Hello,

It has been a while.

Anyway, the oddest idea has come forth through my brain.
I have had the urge to mount an M203 on the top rail of an M4. By this I mean when you remove the carry handle will you be able to attache a 203 upside down on the rail?

Is this possible? Don't try and talk me out of this! Unless you cannot mount one for legitimate purposes ie won't fit. Just wanted to ask if i can do this before i actually purchase one. and no I will not purchase an RIS or anything.

Thank Ya!

sure, you could... although you'd look pretty stupid when the BB shower hits your front sight rather than your target.

That's what I was thinking, but he said not to try and talk him out of it... *shrugs*... it'd be awkward as hell to fire/cock/load/just about everything to do with it.

well... loading should be manageable. firing's a different story though.

but yeah, i wasn't trying to talk him out of it. just thought i'd mention what would happen.

Even if the front sight was removed, the lower portion of the spray would hit the gun. With the launcher mounted so far back on the gun, some of the spread could hit the top of the handguard, depending on the length of the barrel, the gas and the grenades used. chipped paint/plastic anyone?

Well, thanks for the quick replies, and I still plan on trying this, maybe i will get a raised mount to put on top of the current rail....

Anyway just wanted to make sure it COULD work, maybe not the most efficeintly, but could work.

what i don't get is why you don't just standard mount the m203 to your m4?
