Prometheus standard and high speed gears.
I know their a good brand. WGC shop says both standard and high speed Prometheus gears can handle up to the Prometheus MS110 spring. War 4 toys says they can both handle systema m120. Who is right? There is a quite a difference in fps according to the spring comparison chart.
I wanted to get something a little stronger than the prometheus MS110, preferably the KM 120m(using reference from the spring comparison chart) and I would use it on the high speed gear set. Does anyone run something similar, or anyone ever break a set of prometheus gears? Help would be very appreciated. This is making me go insane! Oh, I was also considering the Hurricane high speed set(supposedly can handle m120 as well). If anyone has personal experience with them, let me know |

Many people here will STRONGLY recommend against high speed gears and anything more powerful than a Systema M100. It's possible to go higher than that, but you're putting a much larger amount of stress on the mechbox shell itself, and you're going to have to invest in the electrical system... low resistance switch assembly, Systema high torque or Eagle Force motor, thick (14 guage) wire and a very powerful battery. Even then, you're probably going to toast your motor quite a bit quicker than you would normally.

Sorry, I dunno, I just wanted some quick opinions. My thinking was, I wanted a little better ROF without going and buying a 9.6V for my G36. So why not just get prometheus high speed gear set if they can handle an ms110. Do you see where I'm getting at?

Well I'll answer your question right here then. I have the Prometheus High speed and the standard gear that can handle MS100 and MS110. Its true the gears can handle M120. I have one of them on one of my AEG for almost year now with no signs of wear. If you dont like the idea of modifying your G36 to store 9.6v battery then pair the prometheus Highspeed gear, MS110, Bearing bushing and 8.4v battery for a better ROF.

Thanks so much, thats what I was looking for! I think I'll try it with the KM 120m(just a hair faster than the m120, and cheaper in price)

i use a 9.6v 1100mah mini in my g36. no mods needed. fits right in and i get 16 rds./sec this is a stock gun and for cqb it's just fine and i can go all day on it. if you want to upgrade your foregrip for 9.6 3000 you can get a larger foregrip easily enough.

I already modified the gun to use A sized batteries, but the thing is, when we play airsoft, the guy that has the fast charger can only only charge up to an 8.4V battery pack

Want to know who's right? How about Prometheus?
http://www.laylax.com/list/eghardgear/index.html Run it through a translator: http://www.babelfish.altavista.com In case you can't figure it out, it says that both the genuine torque and high speed torque gear sets can handle up to MS110SP springs. If you're intent on using the KM 120M, that should be okay. It actually settles to a lower FPS. I installed that spring on my AK and it shot 390fps at first, but has now settled to 380fps. It's also a "relatively" softer spring than SystemA or Prometheus, so is easier on your gears to crank it. |
