Type 96 Gurus Please Respond
First and Most Important - I've tried looking all over the place and can't find the answer I'm looking for, so I'm hoping somone from the Legendary ASC boards can help. I have the OK Cylinder Set for my Type 96 which has a spring I find to be a little too hot right now (500fps). Does anyone know what spring I can use to get around 400fps and/or 450fps and is compatible with the OK Cylinder Set.
Secondly - Does anyone know whether the PDI Fluted barrel for the Type 96 has the thread at the end of the barrel to install a silencer or flash hider?

Just remember there are two different sizes of springs & spring guides, 7mm and 9mm. The stock spring and 130SP are 7mm. The really heavy springs (Laylax 150SP,Laylax 210 SP, etc) use the 9mm Spring Guide. Here are some of my Chrono tests performed previously using KSC 0.20 Perfect BB's. Stock - 308 FPS Laylax 130SP - 390 FPS Laylax 150SP - 485 FPS Laylax 210SP - 570 FPS (Non Stock springs were tested with Guarder Ultralight Piston Head, Guarder Spring Guides, Guarder S303 Stainless Taper Cylinder Head, Barrel Spacers, Stock Cylinder, Stock Trigger Parts, Stock Inner Barrel). I finally have my OK tight bore so I'll get around to installing that soon and doing more tests with the Chrono. You could also cut down the spring that came with the OK set, that is what Specarms does. Just cut a little at a time and keep checking on the chrono to see what you are getting (ensure your hop-up is set or you'll get low readings). Or simply email Specarms and ask them how much to cut down approx. as a starting point. I'm still shopping for a 450fps spring, the L96 springs are hard to find in stock anywhere. Cheers |
