WA2000, godly, or over priced and shoddy?
Geneth WA2000 Sniper Rifle
Super Awsome gun in my mind, I have yet to EVER see one actually for sale, on display, or even in-use. One of my most admired guns in the world (THE Most infact). Any opinions on this gun? (IE, tactical applications, personal encounters, and the like). or links to descriptions other than redwolf's? (as its the only one i have ever seen). Personally i would LOVE to get one, but three things stand in my way 1.Age 2.Customs Canada 3. And Price Tag. (please refrain from flaming me/sending me PM's to buy this gun, im not asking for it, and only want to discuss it)

Not the most admired gun, there are many highly admired guns out there.
IMHO its a ghastly looking rifle and aside from its looks, there is nothing special about it. Its accurate, but so are thousands of other rifles. One of the big kickers was its size and shape...so unless your a police sniper on a roof shooting down, it was a very uncomfortable rifle to hold and shoot since laying prone with it is a bitch, rare, big, weight is almost that of an M60 Last I heard, its internals are all specific to that gun. they only made 300 and most are still in Asia. Far as I know, none have made it to Canada. As far as pratical application goes, forget about it. Would be impossible to game with. Importing could be a problem since no one stocks them. With only 300 made(only 176 real ones were made), my guess is that they are all sold. One guy was selling on in the UK for around 1500EU (over $2,100canadian) And any you find will cost even MORE then the revered Systema M4 PTW guns. Ill bet you would pay upwards of $3,000 to get the G2000 http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/forum...66926&hl=w2000 guy makes his own |

the guy who made his own did an amazing job of it thats for sure....
that said i would agree with droc, the gun while having some cool factor for being so incredibly rare is also just that, incredibly rare. it wouldnt be something you would take into the field with you, especially concidering that if it broke you would be screwed. of course the big limitations are price, since like it has been said you would easily top $3000 canadian for one. the other is that you are aleardy saying your not old enough (under 18 perhaps????) to be buying so that is your biggest challenge.... |

I disagree. The biggest challenge is finding a retailer that would sell to a minor AND being a minor and have a good enough job to spend 3000 $ on a toy he will use about 4 or 5 months a year. Now THAT's a big challenge

Geneth is not a 100% accurate reproduction of the WA 2000; there are a few differences that become more apparant when you compare them side by side
similar to the TM SVD modded AK vs real SVD Geneth, if I remember right, built their WA2000's over an APS 2 base lots of 'garage' companies seem to like the aps2 for sniper rifle bases; Blaser R93, L96, etc |
