Quick Question - Stock Barrel Length
This is a really quick question. The length of a stock TM M4A1 inner barrel is?? I'm just looking for a tightbore and I see both 363mm and 407mm barrels listed everywhere.
If you're still with me, heres an extension question. Assuming 363mm is stock, if I increase the length to 469mm(I'm putting a silencer on for looks, which is 120mm long, and if I've got the extra length, I might as well use it), I'd probably need a new cylinder. Any gun gods be able to tell me what cyclinder I'd have to get?

Depending on the brand of cylinder you're looking for, you may want to look in to an AK47 cylinder, which is in between an M16 and M4 length.
Systema calls it a "Type 1" cylinder. |

Thats an idea. Its quite the mess of parts and parts that require other parts and brands and such though. I was hoping to pick up a few parts on Jugglez next UNC order, but damn. Cylinder, cylinder head, pistons, piston heads. *Shakes fist*
Anything you'd recommend in terms of brand and overall whats needed for this to work out. For example, if I look at your Systema Type 1 cylinder, do I need a new cylinder head and/or piston/piston head? Heres what I'm working with: M4A1, mild spring, and spring guide w/bearing, metal bushings. otherwise stock. I'd like to change the inner barrel to 469mm. What do I NEED, and what may I WANT.

a tightbore barrel if your upgrading the barrel. All you should need is that cylinder illusion suggested. type 1 cylinder, made by systema. As far as i know systema is one of the higher end brands when it comes to parts. You may want to get a polycarb piston and piston head if bugget allows.

I have my eye on a Prometheus 6.03 469mm tightbore that unC as in stock. My budget isn't that much of an issue. I'd rather spend a bit more in the first place and have something that works instead of playing catch up later if something breaks.
So, type 1 cylinder, and a poly/silicone piston/piston head. what about cylinder head?

hmm, clinder head, you can upgrade to a metal one if you want.
Maybe look at a cylinder set. Comes with cylinder, cylinder head and a poly carb piston head Name ZS-03-13 Description Systema N-B Cylinder Set For AK Suitable For:AK47/47S ... Price US$ 53.60 Weight 0g and the poly carb piston is Name ZS-05-01 Description Systema Poly Carbonate Piston Suitable For Gearbox Version 2 & 3 ... Price US$ 22.50 Weight 0g Upgrading gets expensive. You dont even need to upgrade the piston or piston head, but its always an option as it is better than stock |

no problem. First time upgrades can always be confusing, therse so many pistons and other parts to choose from. Hope all goes well in your upgrades, also one more thing is you may want to get some cylinder grease, systema makes it, thats it that i can really think you may need.
