Tanaka p229 heavy weight "the review"
As this is my first review please be kind
First impresion: was wow it does not look like a hunk of plastic, some of the pistols i looked at getting looked and felt like plastic. When i picked it up i noticed that the weight and ballance where realy nice, the grip fits nicly into my hand. the triger looks a little weak (will need to upgrade that soon) the magazine looks good and solid, and the slide is plastic but the finnish on it is well done to hide this fact. First game with: Used it yesterday out in the south island rangers new feild (i was a little on the cold side). the first couple of mags i put through it where of green gas and i shot a target about fifteen feet away. I used it a few times through out the day putting about 10 mags through it, using two different brands of green gas ( the one being in a n ugly camo bottle, not shure what the other brand was ether) After: After i got home last night i did a quik strip of the pistol to see if there is any noticible wear. there are a few dings on the outer barral and slide but it looks like it held up nicly. so I am fairly happy with this gun though i am not shure if there is much avalible for after market parts for it. I am wanting to but in a longer iner and threaded outer barral, a metal slide and stifer return spring. I am also lloking to upgrade for use with propane. but for my first gbb its a good little gun.

Tanaka guns are pretty much sex in 6mm form. Green gas, propane, it's all (apparently) the same stuff. Post up some pics of your P229 sometime, I'd love to see one!
PS: This belongs in the "reviews" section

I agree.
I have 3 Tanaka Revolvers and all of em "sexy". Bought my first Tanaka from ASC 5 months ago and I am in love with the company now. Dying for a SAA from them, but they are sold out |
