I want to make a mk22 mod 0 from the vietnam era
yes I"m loking to make an m39 mk22 mod 0 or other wise known as a hush puppy used by the navy special warfare unit .. I"m not sure what to start with it looks alot like a m1911 a1 but I think if I start with that everyone will just think it's a silenced 1911 witch it's not so any help would be good there are pics below
okay so the pics are from both sides and just another note I forgot it's a smith and wesson gun for those who don't know |

a friend of mine has a pair that usese a blank firing S&WM39 modelgun as a base, and with ppk internals to round it out as a gbb everything in there is customed to be what it is and I doubt you can find many gunsmiths outside of Japan that will be willing to do the same anyway, M1911 isnt the way to go, safety isnt even in the same spot I would start with a KJW M6904 NBB or one of the S&W cybergun springers, IMHO |

Am I right in thinking that those are sights along the top of the supressor?
And kos, In regards to the picture you linked, it may work for the initial look of the pistol, it's still got that nickel/stainless/whatever the hell you wanty to call it finish, it has a rail along the bottom of the frame, and the grip itself looks to be an entirely different shape. And interesting pistol nonetheless. however, for the rouch appearance, this may work. Finding a supressor with the sights on the top may become difficult too, if not having to be custom-made.

I've seen silencers like that before, I think they are sights on the top.
Which begs the question...why? |

Probably because the silencer obscures the regular sights.

prob the closest thing considering its a S&W, not that old looking and shorter as well. i guess you could make a shorty out of it and re finish it to look older |
