I'm not sure why the SPAS-12 costs more, but I've heard it's a much better gun in most aspects (The Benelli apparently has some sort of internal deficiency that breaks it after a while, I think it's a weak nozzle). Also, as you said, the velocity is higher.

Is their a shotgun that ejects the shell after all the bb's have been fired. I overheard that their was, just wanted to know if their is any truth to that?

The M3 Shorty may lose a few FPS because it's shorter. |

The inner barrels are the same length. I'm 90% certain about that. I haven't held one's inner barrels up against the other's, but the aftermarket tightbores and such are the same for both of them.
As for the problem with the Cylinder breaking after so long with the M3, it's been found that it seems to only happen if you pump it too quickly for the bbs to load completely (specifically on the return forward). The SPAS 12 should have the same problem, but it seems to be less common (probably) because there are fewer of them. The SPAS 12 that you see that's about $100 more has a full metal folding stock, that's why it's more, it's about the same price as the full size M3 without the stock.

It's been a while since I compared a full sized and shorty M3. So yes, I may be completely wrong about the barrel lenght.
However, both the SPAS and the M3 have essentially the same internal system. The M3 is, if I'm not incorrect again, the newer model of the two. Having tried both, I far prefer the M3. |

Right on all counts, Grey.
The full size M3 and short M3 also have the EXACT internals including the inner barrel (unless I'm totally out to lunch). The long M3's longer barrel is just longer on the outside. Before the shorty version was released, a lot of people cut down their outer barrels, since there are several inches of hollow metal there, making the gun over a meter long. :S

So, is the long M3 alright to use? I was looking to get a shotgun, but I am a bit weary of the price; I could get the long one for about 80$ cheaper than the short one.

Yes, the long M3 is just fine. You did not have to revive a thread from last year.

The long m3 is fine it is super accurate etc. Only problem comes from the crummy tri nozzle breaking if a pump is done wrong.

And it will only break if you insist on trying to pump it as hard as a real metal gun.
With normal care, nothing to worry about. It's like the folks who break the (fake) charging handle on the MP5 series; they decided to open and slap-close it shut when you really have no need for that. Remember that our guns are really fancy toys. That's all. |
