Biodegradable BB's
I'm going to be shooting some AirSoft at my new cottage once it's all built. The only thing I'm scared of is little orange balls everywhere.
I have yet to actually play with AirSoft so I'm wondering what you actually do with the BB's? Do they just disappear? Info on cleaning up BB's please! :rocket: |

To my understanding (and anyone can come in and correct me on this one), is that the more "high-end" BB's are biodegradable and are environmentally safe. Such as Airsoft Elite. However, you mentioned ORANGE so I'm guessing you purchased Canadian Tire-ish BB's... I'm thinking that those aren't biodegradable, then again, my knowledge is limited on Canadian Tire BB's... get an industrial forest vacuum?

once they hit the ground most bbs will go poof and disappear with a flash of blue scented smoke
however be warned about those nasty ones that linger around, they'll multiply into colonies of un-poofable bbs oh and btw if you search "biodegradeable bb" in the search function, at least 5 topic comes up: http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...biodegradeable (this one being almost EXACTLY what you asked) the following discusses biodegradeability of specific brands http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...biodegradeable http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...biodegradeable http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...biodegradeable http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...biodegradeable [end spoonfeed] |

well technically everything is biodegradable, so your ORANGE balls will break-down sooner or later...

Deer God... any idea when you're going to start doing some of your own research? And by "airsoft" I assume you mean clearsoft/shitsoft, since you're not old enough to get your hands on an airsoft gun.

I have a official airsoft spot in my yard, which is infested with little white balls. All other spots in the yard are, for the most part, clean. Mabye you could do that? Even biodegradeble bb's take a LONG time to biodegrade, and are expensive, so you might just have to deal with it. Hope this helps...

Is Haggis the new Greylocks? All signs point to: maybe, but at least he's not rude and annoying.

The whole BB biodegradability topic has been beaten to death. Bottom line is all BBs are non-toxic and pose little to no danger to the environment or animal life in the quantities that we leave in the outdoor environment. The worst thing is that they are an eyesore in a natural environment. If you want to pay the premium and buy biodegradable BBs, kudos to you for sticking to a principle and demonstrating that commitment with your wallet, but frankly, if you want to *really* make a difference, drive a hybrid car, turn your air-conditioning off, and/or plant some trees each year to lower your carbon footprint, but don't for a second think you're accomplishing much of anything for the environment by using biodegradable BBs by comparison. |
