Echo 1 M14 Socom
Does anyone know who makes this gun for echo?
I tried looking it up, but am unable to find a reliable source on it. Thanks in advance for any help! |

Thanks for the input!
I did think it was the SOC16 by JG, however... There are other instances where Echo1 has used different makes, such as their MP5-PDW which is made by Galaxy. I heard a rumor that the M14 was made by KART, I think this mainly arose from KART making the chinasoft EBR version and with echo's impending release of a similar model people put 2 and 2 together. |

JG makes the guns for Echo 1. JG guns come with a 120 spring in them. Echo 1 removes the 120 and replace it with a 110 spring, as well as replacing the gears with CA gears. Then they rebrand the JG's as Echo 1's.

Although many JG stock guns (all I have seen anyways), come with Classic Army branded gears in them, not just Echo1.

It's my understanding that Echo 1 is a US dealer for Jing Gong product. They import the pieces, inspect and rebrand them, then offer a product warranty for 'Echo 1' in the US.
If you're looking for a decent review of the Echo 1 M14 Socom, go to youtube and search for videos by "airsoftreports.com". They have a 2 part, indepth review of the gun. I suggest you watch it, there are some suprising perks but also some unforseen cons about the design. Check it out. - Ryan

Thanks everyone for your input
I watched the airsoft reports part 1 and 2 for the Echo1 M14 Socom, seems that the only real issue is a rather flimsy heatsheild. However a M14 ris was on my list of upgrade parts... also a complete internal overhaul of the mechbox, barrel and electrical. Strikes me that due to the extent of the alterations I have planned for it may be more economically sound to purchase the Echo1 rather then the TM. Either way the gun will be a far cry from stock once complete... so long as there are no compatibility issues with the external components everything should work out nicely. Cheers. |
