hi, i am new to airsoft (i am playing paintball sine 15 years) and i would like to get somme wisdom poured on my newbi head! loll
my tm hi-capa 5.1 is in the mail! so i would like to upgrade it whit every parts that will make it more perfomant (dont really need more fps becose i will be shooting a people up close in cqc )and more estetic.
it will be used a lot (not for display) so i will need good components.
oh and please, if you tell me to buy a part, please explain me why i should (what it does to the gun)
edit* i will run it on propane!
thanks

p.s. is there some danger shooting up close whit a gbb, we play whit paintballs going at 280 fps and we shoot at close range (1 feet away)
can i do head shot whit it or is it too dangerous(we ware gogles)?
thanks

Most parts designed to improve GBB performance will have an impact on fps, though not always significantly so. Also, the TM 5.1 in its stock config is plenty good for CQB, all it really needs are more mags. Since you don't even have your gun yet, you really should wait until it arrives and you've had a few games with it before thinking about upgrading it. No sense in spending money on it so soon if it's fine as it is.

If you do insist on upgrading the internals to improve shooting performance, however, it'd go something like this:
- Tightbore inner barrel: improves accuracy and gas efficiency
- Guarder loading nozzle: improves gas efficiency
- Nine Ball piston head: improves gas efficiency

To improve its feel, replace the stock plastic slide (and outer barrel) with a metal version. It'll completely change the feel of the blowback action.

It's a lot safer to shoot someone with a GBB up close than with a paintball marker. Paintball has a muzzle energy of around 11.6 Joules (3.2g projectile @ 280fps), a typical GBB is lucky to break 1.2 Joules (0.20g projectile in the low 300fps).

Just as a side note, head shots in general should be avoided at all times whether we have goggles on or not.

If your planning on close combat like your thinking, then dont do anything to the gun. Just buy more mags.

yep
more mags is pretty much mandatory if you are gaming the gun
play with it for a bit and then decide if you want to upgrade the thing

I would suggest the guarder nozzle as well, as it seems to be less prone to breaking compared to the TM one; and if it does break, you will most likely have to replace the floating valve and spring and valve blocker

I'd also recommend a Guarder 150% enhanced recoil spring to improve blowback speed and reduce impact on your slide.
