WE 1911 vs. M9?- Propane Compatable?
First of all I was thinking of getting a WE 1911. Can I use propane with it? Also, I wanted to get a full metal M9. Does anyone know which full metal M9 is the best. Also if I was to go with the TM 1911 instead of the WE 1911, would I be able to upgrade it to full metal.
Thanks, Alex |

The simple answer to your question is, its really dependant on how much you wish to spend.
All GBB operate on the same premise, where the gas is stored in the magazine and when the trigger is pulled and the gas is released and pushes the BB forward and the next bb is loaded via a spring from from the magazine as well and the whole purpose starts again. After market parts are usually available for alot of guns. I dont know much about WE, but if that WE 1911 has a metal body and slider, you should be fine to use propane. I believe WE's are usually metal. As for the M9, what is the best, is all opinion. I enjoy KJ, not to costly, full metal fairly decent quality. As for a TM 1911, I hear that the new generation of TM GBB can use propane right out of the box. As for upgrades Im assuming that there must be some after market parts available for this model. I would recommend hitting up google in regards to this. With the correct search words you can find reviews for each gun as well.

While I was waiting for a reply I found a guarder full metal body and slide for the tm 1911, the only problem is that was making the gun about 80 percent metal for 150 dollars, now the gun is close to 300 dollars without a metal barrel, I think I might go with a KJ M9, I'm leaning towards an m9 more anyway.
Thanks for your valuable comment. -Alex |

Like I said, its usually dependant on how much a person is willing to spend.
Some people swear by KJ because of their mainly metal product line and how inexpensive they are in comparison to other full metal products. As it stands some people have been soured on KJ because some people feel KJ doesnt doesnt create that great of quality.

The WE1911 will take propane right out of the box. I have one myself and my only qualm with it is the relatively small gas reservoir in the mag. If I get a little too trigger happy and try to empty the clip too fast, the gas will run out before all 15 rnds are gone. Mag cooldown is a bitch.
The new generation TM 1911's will take propane right out of the box as well but they're all ABS/Polycarb etc. There are aftermarket upgrade kits available for the TM 1911 to make it all metal but it will cost ya. If you get age verified you can check out the classifieds for used pistols. I happened to see an ad for an upgrade WE1911 just yesterday. The seller has upgrade the valves and nozzles so there's better seals and therefore more efficient usage of gas. As for KJW M9's; I have the KJW M92FS and I'm not too happy with it. The slide and the frame don't fit very tightly so it will wobble/jiggle around when you're holding it. Not so much that it affects performance but annoying. Also, my version came with a fixed hop-up and over time it's either shrunk or worn down so that now all my shots drop off excessively at 30ft out. KJ's seem to have a huge gas reservoir, the mag will hold 25rnds and at normal room temp I can get 1 1/2 mags of shots out of 1 gas fill normally. I've heard but can't confirm this but KJW's are supposedly 100% compatible with TM's Last edited by LyquidFyre; October 23rd, 2007 at 14:55.. |

What Edmode said. WE's are meant to be used with propane. Anything less will sometimes not cycle them properly. I used propane on a WE Hicappa 5.1 (fricking heavy slide) and it was almost sluggish. Not quite. But I could tell if I didn't use propane, it would be terrible.

I stand behind the KJW M9. I have had one for a while, its a very nice GBB. The only problem I had after thousands of cycles is the trigger spring broke because its made of cheap metal. A replacement is cheap, and it can also take real Beretta trigger springs as a replacement.
Recommended.
