Maybe krylon fusion is just like that, I was spray painting an old lamp with krylon fusion black and it came out very glossy looking, but thats what I was going for so it worked out for me. The cap on the can was also matt black as well.

It looks pretty sweet, Keep it 1 tone, make it a darker shade, and dont paint anything else...\

It had a worn coat of tan with a little coyote when it came to me. I finger painted a coat of green acrylic craft paint over it, which is also starting to come off. The result is that it looks like it has some sort of skin disease.

I'm not too keen of the semi painted tan G36. I'd go all over it and then add other colors to break the rifle pattern. That's what camo is supposed to do, blend in and break the shape of the object.

As for the hand applyed paint, it might work, but it's not pretty. It won't sell for much later.

Okay guys, so I tried to sand it out lighly, just to get rid of that shinyness and also make it a bit used. Going out on Monday to get some camo brown kylon paint from a different Canadian Tire if they have, if not, going to try a flat brown paint. Just going to spray a light brown to make the colour a bit darker.

Looks too bright. You need to use a matte/flat colour when painting anything for field purposes, as the shine will be a heck of a lot brighter under the sun. For someone from Toronto I can't understand why you would paint your gun tan. There aren't any desert areas near Toronto.

I'm not against painting weapons (mind you I may never do it myself to anything other than real-steel hunting rifles, but thats just because its fun), I'm just against painting things that contrast with the environment you'll be operating in. Temperate climates require a temperate colour pallete, drawing from a desert one will make you stick out like a sore thumb (kind of like using ACU in an evergreen forest).

I don't play out west, and for that reason you won't find anything other than greens, browns, and blacks (and white for winter) in my kit selection.
