I've already wrapped between the barrel and the hop up rubber if that's what you mean. However I seem to be getting a ridiculous amount of hop even with the hop up dialed completely to zero
any ideas?
Wrap just behind where the bucking is and go forward to over the barrel for a bit, like 1/4", then back. It keeps air from passing under the rubber forwards, keeping it all in the barrel.

So the "Teflon mod"?

Teflon tape as in the stuff plumbers use to wrap threads on pipes right (I believe that's what was used in the hopup rubber mod that Syn posted here and in some other thread)? at least that's what I've used (for regular screw threads that I don't want loctite on).

I've had to "cheat" on a build and use a LOOSE air nozzle on one build...a M100 spring was too low (350ish) and the M110 spring I had on hand was over 400 sometimes (405ish)...didn't want any risk of running the build hot (I consider that cheating) for the fields around here...so I used a loose (it wasn't that bad, just a little air leakage and not a full instant compression like the original one) air nozzle and it dropped the FPS right into the 385 range with a M110. Decided not to tempt fate and left it at that.

The little o-rings inside nozzles are sometimes really gummed up or dried out. I've found that it works well to use a flat bladed micro screwdriver (better it it's worn a bit and the edges aren't sharp) to pry it out. Then clean and relube it, and reinstall it. They're very small and fine...so pretty easy to nick without something blunt to pick them out.

are the prometheus nozzles the same as the guarder? or is one better than the other? i like the idea that all i really have to buy for my M14 is a better nozzle (i.e. the prometheus one) as opposed to an entire kit (the guarder kit) to bring up my fps.

What about the cylinder head? should that be upgraded as well? or would i be fine just to upgrade the nozzle. I noticed that guarder makes a complete set, including the piston, cylinder head etc, but if this is not necessary, then that is great. id rather spend $12 on a new nozzle and get an increase in fps then spend $50 and get the same results.

I'm not an expert in that area, but I'd say the nozzle should be fine by itself. Just make sure to put a bit of lube on the O-rings before installation.

Just to update the thread a little.
With regards to making a better air nozzle seal. I played around with the teflon tape and nozzle. It does give a better seal but I don't think its a long term solution because teflon tape is so weak when put in between constantly moving parts which may cause it to shred over time. I am use to using it in plumbing just to give a great seal on threads.

Anyhow if I can't find a tiny thin rubber washer that seats properly in the recessed groove of the nozzle then I'll glue on a thin washer to the backend of the nozzle like this: http://www.airsoftfaqs.com/technical...-nozzle-2.html

and test the compression using this
Questions / Symptoms:
- How to check compression? Is mine ok?
- I've poor / inconsistent FPS results"
