Age Verification Removed Due To Trade Dispute

ProWin Mechbox Info
I had some questions about the interesting ProWin 7mm split mechbox. I was entertaining the notion of building a 'budget PTW' sometime in the future. Basically, an AEG with similar attributes to the Systema PTW line, but with a budget of under $700 . Thus, I have the following questions:
Will a Modify gearset fit into the ProWin shell, or are there significant differences between it and the TM shell? Is the ProWin mechbox shell reinforced? I read that they are of CNC construction, but I'm not well-versed in v.2 mechboxes yet. I'd like to use a Lipo battery and a Mosfet trigger, and the AEG is aimed at 400-415fps. I couldn't find any references to if the ProWin unit was able to take that strain. Even if it is not reinforced, should the addition of a Sorbo pad make up for that? Thanks for your help.

I was under the impression that the 7mm version was discontinued. However they still currently make the 8mm version.
I heard from one of the alberta teams that a few of them installed the prowin box and they all had mechbox blowouts within 2 weeks. However i have no way to verify or disprove this. This is the main reason I havent picked one up yet. Im also interested in 2nd opinions.

Pro-Wins are nigh-on-indestructible. It will laugh at your 400FPS setup.

Last i heard was that you would need over 900fps to even come close to even thinking about worrying if it would break.... I have a 8mm one here and its uterly solid. There is no chance you would be able to break it.

The blue 7mm is garbage run away from it
No a modify set of gears will not work in this model of pro-win http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...4_srch_Pro-win My team is using 4 Pro-wins and we have had 2 failures over the last 2 seasons on HEAVY FPS set ups I blew the trigger assembly on my pro-win after 25000 bbs on full auto only and Voodoo blew a piston. The pro-win is majorly reinforced but the design is different from a normal V2 so the shell doesn't experince the common flaw that other mechboxs do. When I first built mine I put a Systema M130 spring in it and my gun was shooting 480 without a complaint. |

Assembling the gearbox isn't the hard part. Modifying your set up is the hard part. ie, milling out your receiver, making the necessary wiring arrangements and attaching the stock in a way that allows quick release.

Nope as ILLusion said, putting the MB together aint the issue, its making the room in the reciever. Although personally I found there mechbox to be kinda a fun puzzle to put together.
