don't you need to cut the mechbox to allow the piston head and .ec to follow this is some what intresting im intrested in seeing more if any one knows of more.

For the Guarder Auto-Back kit, you do need to cut the mechbox shell to fit the L-arm up into the piston.

The piston head pushes the L-arm back, which pulls the bolt back. The bolt carrier spring pushes it all back forward (and the mainspring pushes the piston head back as normal). Makes a real clackety-clack racket.

It will destroy a polycarbonate piston head (it indents a nice impression into the back of the piston head)...not sure if there's a better way to set it up.

When I had one, it was on an all metal AK...there was a lot of impact marks from the metal bolt hitting the body/front end. I'm not sure how well a plastic body would hold up over time.

But...man oh man...everyone who hears one turns to check it out!
