MP5 Cocking Tube

Well the cocking tube on my MP5 is plastic and i want to put a metal one on it. Seems simple enough. That being said, my MP5 (used) is a combination of quality parts ranging from TM, to CA mechbox (upgraded) to (i think) ICS metal body. Now the OP cant remember exactly if he put on an ICS or CA metal body on it. The only bit of info i can give you (as i suck with MP5 series) is that the hop-up adjustment is a little notch located by the cocking tube/handle, NOT in the ejection port. So, my question is: Will this fit with my gun?

Lastly, i had one vet say it would, another say it wouldn't and another say who knows ask the forum. So i will:

Will the cocking tube get seized if i order it from the states?

can't say for certain since I've never molested any ICS parts, but in my opinion MP5 parts seem to be interchangeable but have fitment issues.

I have a UTG, put on a CA metal front end and it wobbled bad. worked but was loose. Currently, my MP5 only has the UTG lower, CA upper and front and a TM mechbox with modify upgrades.

I have a CA front end on my JG with the external hopup adjustment. Works fine.

And you're fine ordering a front end. I ordered a complete CA front end with flashlight grip from the US. It was opened and inspected and sent on its way.

so would the ICS part fit you think? all CA front ends are sold out from what i can tell, save for the SD versions

if it has an ics upper go with an ics front
Edit: if the hopup lever is on the left side of your gun by the cocking tube it is not a ca body. And no a cocking tube should not be confiscated.

Hopup / body is irrelevant. I have a CA upper and front end on my custom MP5 and an external hopup adjustment. Although I DO have the proper internal CA hopup. I just haven't gotten around to installing it yet.

It WILL work. I've used an ics cocking tube on a ca with no problems at all.
On an mp5 with the hop-up under the ejection port, all the moving parts are in the body, not the cocking tube.

in my case i am using (i believe) an ICS body with a CA front end (thanks to Crunchmeister). He doesn't forsee any problems and i trust his judgement. Anyone else care to support his theory (i am just trying to get all sides on this issue)

I'm 99.99% confident it will work fine. I'll go one farther. If for some reason your hopup DOESN'T fit or work with the your body and my CA cocking tube, I'll give you back your money, you send me back the cocking tube, and we're all good.

I absolutely agree with Crunch. It will work. Like I said earlier, the cocking tubes are identical, the ejection port cover that slides back is inside the body and is easily pushed back by a standard cocking tube.

I have two MP5s that I've rebuilt in one way or another. Both now have the ICS quickstrip body and CA front ends; one SD and the other A series. The CA front ends tend to be a tight fit but that's good in terms of friction fit to reduce wobble. Both are hopup adjust at the foregrip. Nothing special to be aware of.
