ICS vs G&G

I see both ICS and G&G are making clear airsoft guns and thusly have somewhat flooded the Canadian market.

So the general question for the old sweats is: does either company vary significantly in quality? Is either more upgradeable? Any thoughts? I am not looking at any specific model at the moment, I am just curious.

macguyver did a comparison, he said the ICS ones were horrible quality in comparison to regular ICS or the G&G's.

Whoa, thats crazy I have seen that the ICS are generally more expensive than the G&Gs so you don't always get what you pay for, eh?

Its easyer to find Internal parts for the G&G.

G&G was more money than the ICS, upwards of $75 depending on model.

As much as it pains me to say it, get the G&G. The split mechbox design that people liked about the ICS is unusable if you can't drive the takedown pin out.

On an aside it seems like now http://www.shootsoft.ca/ are selling their G&G significantly cheaper than their ICS (ie M4 carbines: 313.65 vs 446.49). But, I only started checking around at prices today so I am not sure if this is a recent flip-flop or what.

And cheers Zone 69 it is good to get a feel for what is going to provide the easiest part acquision, fo' sho.

There prices are in US bucks. and by the looks of it there the lowend one's(combat machine)

Top = Top Tech
Medium = G&G
Low = Combat Machine

'69 yeah you have to select CAD on the right tool bar. BUT way more importantly for this is discussion: is how can you tell which are lower quality ones versus higher quality ones? What does the noob need to look for...especially online?

But assuming the ICS mechbox is the same as their nice metal guns, you don't need to replace as many parts out of the box in the ICS. Every single G&G gun I or people I have known have owned have screwed up internally while stock. From crappy pistons, gears, cracking bushings, melting wiring, chipping or cracking metal bodies I just hate G&G. Also the only parts in an ICS that are non-standard to normal armalites is the hopup, cut off lever, mechbox shells, and some nozzles don't work well in ICS guns. Everything else is standard ver.2 compatible.

G&G Cansoft guns come with metal uppers though, the ICS Cansoft are totally plastic receivers.

If you want a nice gun, get a real full metal ICS. If you are buying Cansoft, get G&G and cross your fingers.

Some G&G cansoft have metal uppers. The Combat Machine ones are plastic.
