TOP M249 FN Paratrooper
Hey I found what I believe is a good deal on a Top M249 FN Paratrooper. I really like the retractable stock on it. I was wondering if its possible to change the gun from from side mag fed to a drum. Thanks for all the help i n advance.

The drum that you click on and then feed into the mag portsame slot as the mag goes to. The gun itself can take both (one at a time) without mods you only need to make sure you have the groves/lips below the mag port where you clip the pouch onto. The drum or pouch mags needs to be able to feed into the mag port so make sure it has all the parts that go with it such as the feeding tube and the connention that actuallu slips into the mag port. You should be good to go.

I tried finding reviews couldn't fine any that talk about performance. If you feel friendly point me in the right direction. (yes I used google.)

The top needs a TONNE of work to even be field-able... aaand if I remember correctly it's 100% plastic.
Top is generally awful, unless you spend a whole tonne of money on a Pro-win gearbox on it... But then it becomes really expensive. |

600$ is stupid low though... Good side project, less than adequate primary in stock form.

$600 is a great starting price, expect to double that to get it up to where it needs to be to live on a field. Expect to change the internals completely and do other work. If it helps I rebuild my TOP M249 and changed it to a C9.
If you want to get an idea of what your info check out this link. It's the rebuild that I did on mine. http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=71821 Good luck Jakster |

I actually did find that c9 in my reserch. Problem is I'm afraid the gun will go fast. I still don't believe I have the skills to do the work required on it. As I don't have access to the classifieds yet how often do deals like this come along?

Ok so I asked a few more details about the gun. The guy owns an army surplus, and had it on display. He had it upgraded to an all metal body, but he threw out all the accessories and manual. He also lowered the price to $500 because I told him I needed thoughs accessories. Can I get replacement accesories for it? I really want to put a drum mag on it? Is this still a good deal?

If it has a metal body. I'd say yes. At 500$...Mags aren't restricted, metal body are so those accessories and parts shouldn't be that bad.
