New guy question

I just gotta ask. I just bought a weapon and the lower receiver is clear. I am looking to paint that asap. My question is will I be allowed to participate in events with this weapon?

You can participate in any event with whatever weapon you want as long as it doesn't shoot too hot (fps too high). I would paint it before going though, the clear plastic would be a bit of a giveaway on the field.
But if anyone told you you weren't allowed to play due to your gun, they would be wrong.

Short answer. Yes. You can play if it is painted, or not painted. But everyone who plays will either have an all black gun, or one that was painted. No clear on the field.

I've seen more than a few unpainted clear receivers at games. There were several unpainted Krakens at Border Wars last year. Since higher quality G&G and ICS clear / smoked guns have become available in Canada, I've seen quite a few of those at games too. And they were clear, not painted.

That being said, most of the owners of said guns intended to paint them eventually just because it looks better. But honestly, I don't really see how a clear receiver could give someone away on the field any more than a black receiver.

If the sun hits them at the correct angle (and in ANY moonlight), clear guns are very easy to see.

Yeah, I guess reflection from the clear plastic could cause a flash. Point taken. Although I don't think this would be as much of an issue with the smoked receivers as they have a very matte surface.

I have a G&G smoke receiver on my gun, and I plan to keep it like it. I like the trademark on my gun, and I dont mind the smoke receiver. It's all personal preference in my books. Although, for my next AEG, I do plan to get a metal body.

Why would you cover over the active camo? It makes it leet skeet if there's an active camo receiver.

Who cares if it's painted or unpainted. Although most people do eventually paint them anyways.

Police will generally overlook that you have painted your receiver although the thing is if they're going to charge you that's just one more thing that you did illegal. Think about it, who's going to see it? If a police officer who's not playing on the field with you sees it, or they see and they don't request to search your car/trunk then you're doing something wrong.

Buddy its up to you. Its your gun make it look how you want it to look the most important part is the inside but then its not really the rifle its the shooter that matters
