VFC SCAR-L? Is it worth it?
Hi!
I recently visited the Mach1.com online store and found out that they now sell VFC SCAR's full opaque! I always WANTED a SCAR-L and after viewing a few reviews without a definite answer, I decided I'd ask my fellow canadian airsofters. So here's my question: Is the VFC SCAR-L worth it? Is it reliable, low maintenance, good for outside airsoft? I need a definite answer for my life long quest of getting a SCAR-L! And for those saying go check for one in the Age Verified section, I would even though I'm 18 but my town (Sept-Îles) is pretty much to far away to get myself registered by anyone. Thank you lads! |

We usually play in the wood with enough underbrush to get you irritated. So by outside I meant in the woods/forest and not CQB indoor Airsoft.

In my opinion, the VFC Scar is well worth it. I have one and I love it, maybe not as much as my WE 416 :P
It is quite reliable, but you might have to replace the bushings and the cut off lever, since my Scar would sometimes get jammed on auto fire. Also putting the gearbox back in is a little difficult, if you're not used it to, since you have to correctly position the little round disks for the selector switch. If you want to get more fps out of the gun, you will also need to replace the spring.

Yeah they totally are man, do you have a "No Gurlz aloud" sign?
OP: Next time you visit the big city or something consider getting AV'ed but yeah to answer the original question yes the VFC is great especially their SCAR line. I was considering one at one point in time but then I decided I wanted an AK which I'm saving up for ATM.

The only thing I do not personally like about the VFCs is the piston and the aluminum piston head. For prolonged durability, switch out the piston head for a poly carb (ported) piston head, and go with some type of steel tooth rack piston.

in terms of outdoor play - correct me if I'm wrong here but the new line Mach1 airsoft has are all over 400FPS are they not? Circa 430 if I remem correctly (with 0.2's) part of the new regs to allow them to be classified as non-regulated firearms or something :S
