m249 gearbox dimensions

Hey all;

Anyone have the outside dimensions (in details) of a m249 gearbox? and if possible the hopup chamber? It's for a project of mine.

Thanks

Thanks KGBB

I don't speak french, but I do believe you are thinking of building a PKM?

Love to hear more if you are!

My M249's gearbox has the exact same dimensions as a version 2 AEG gearbox, and it uses an AUG hopup chamber.
Although the CA249 mechbox doesn't perform any better than a V2 mechbox, It's perfect for what your doing lol

I choose the m249 gearbox because of the switch. And it ability to mount higher than other gearbox. As long as the trigger reach the switch in anyway; there no problems there.

I will be using 16 gauge laser cut sheet metal for the lower. the whole body should cost me less than 30$ in sheet metal. The only thing i'm not sure for now is if the lower will be bended or welded.

The only problem i haven't figure yet is how to make the stamped metal cover... The rest is not that hard to make.

Anyway i am still in the design phase

Nice

Anyone know if real parts for a pkm like the feed tray and top cover are prohibited items to import ( from the US?). Those are the parts that are the hardest to replicate and if cant can save by ordering them instead of making them; it would be great.
