Face palm situation part 2
So, the clip that holds the pin in the stock of my VFC SCAR-L has been lost. I was pretty loose already and didn't fit well after the first time it came out. Is there anything I can do to replace it other than taping the damn pin down? Thanks.

Oh crap. Forgot about google, which is rare of me. Face palm situation part 3.
Is there another solution just as good or better than buying a replacement? Just curious. |

Uhm... buy a steel rod the same gauge as the original clip, a blowtorch (you can get away with propane for something that small) and some motor oil, and make your own?
edit: or, ghetto alternative, get a small paperclip and bend it into more or less the right shape. Pray.

Check hobby stores that have a lot of airplanes parts. They usually stock piano wire in different guages. I am sure you can find something working in there. To avoid loosing it again, you can take a large pair of pliers and "damage" one end of the pin. That way, it will jam in place, but still be removable.

Hahaha I love the solutions posted, you guys are true grassroots!
Solution for you: Solution number one: this is if you DON'T want to pay the price of the clips plus shipping or feel it's a big mission to wait for shipping; go to a hobby store and ask for 1/8 scale BODY CLIPS, they're cheap and similar to form and function Solution two: to be combined with solution one, or new clip if you buy one; take pliers, bend both end on the clip outwards from each other, yes just like that, then use a small slice of hobby fuel tubing or an old small diameter o-ring, stretch it over the two outward facing prongs on the clip, and booyakashashakalakayamalamadingdong it stays put! Step 3 get back to shooting...... This solution was brought to you by insomnia at 4:00 hrs...

These guys have it in stock, http://www.wgcshop.com/wgc2008/main/...ar&catid=&cat= they're usually pretty good for VFC parts.
One other option for VFC parts that aren't listed for sale online is to email VFC. They've mailed odd parts like a PBS-4 spring clip to me at no charge.
