prometheus spring
I recently bought a Prometheus spring M150. I thought these springs are colored and this one should be yellow/gold.
However, it's uncolored just like any other spring and it's not very strong, was almost as easy to install as a 120 spring. Anyone has experience with these springs? Maybe the vendor replaced it in the box? |

Really?
I have a Prometheus non-liner MS150 spring sitting here still in a sealed box and its a coppery/gold colour. The MS120 spring I had was a greenish/blue colour. |

Prometheus springs used to be colored. I do not believe they come colored anymore. The only colored springs these days I think are madbull ones. I believe ms135/ms150 is supposed to be yellow. Ms120 is green....come to think of it the color coding of the old Prometheus springs is exactly the same as the current colored madbull ones...sort of.
ms100 = blue ms110 = blue ms120 = green ms135 = gold ms150 = gold ms170 = purple ms190 = pinkish

Hmm. I've retailed Prom springs of different strengths (MS90SP, MS100SP, MS110SP) and they were all silver. Maybe the higher powered springs are colored, not sure?

I believe they ceased coloring their springs because after prolong use the coloring would begin to fleck off inside the mechbox. That may or may not be why they stopped making them with color its only my hypothesis.

They have ceased colouring now. They are all now black with a slight blueish tint under light.

Every single spring in the Prometheus line up use to be coloured.
I don't know why they stopped it, but I'd suspected what TokyoSeven mentioned about the surface coating flaking off. The current colour of the springs (black or silver) is dependent on what material they're made from. The silver ones are stainless steel and the black ones are an oil tempered steel. |

i can vouch that the madbull m150 springs are a nice shade of 'oooh get you' pink..
i'm ashamed to say that i have a pink spring in my gun, long as my arm.. wish it was as long as something else.. (lock stock quote) |
