Counter Sniper, DMR

What is needed in order to have an effective counter-sniper platform or a DMR?

I assume starting with a long rifle (AK 47/74, AUG, G36K, M16, G3, M14) is a good start, but other than that, I am talking in terms of upgrades.

Thanks for your input!

m14, g3, sr25, m16, any long gun. I was going to get an HBar kit for my aug...but I sold it..

Range comes from good quality, heavy BBs, a good quality hop up (i.e. shredder's spacer+ a nice rubber), tightbore (for better groupings), and a good compression system. Having perfect airseal is important, as this makes your fps consistent. Consistent fps is key to tuning your hop up correctly.

Looks like I have all that on my AK105 with 455 mm tightbore barrel, I just bought the Element hop-up chamber for AK and apparently it is the one making the best air seal on the market. I have good compression from piston head/cylinder and nozzle, all the interns save for the motor are modify parts. I just got also SCS + Guarder clear hop-up.

So looks like I have pretty much everything for making a solid CS DMR platform afterall...

P.S: Also I am using .28 gr Bastard BBs

Well it will have to be AK for me unfortunately. Anyway lots of people have G3 for counter sniper and the barrel is only 15mm longer than an AK barrel so no big deal...

I've got myself an aks74 with a posp, slightly upgraded. It can reach out and touch someone, doesn't shoot hotter then 400.

Nice! mine with the spring upgrade should be around 380 FPS with 0.2. Right now I am at 345 with a Modify S90 spring and I have a slight leak at the hop-up unit. So with a better hop-up unit and a S100 spring, I should get 40 FPS easily.

well the AUG can shoot 7.62X39 but that's still not very anti-material...

Airsoft DM need a good scope and a concistant, precise AEG.
If you want to counter snipe in airsoft, find the sniper first, and organise a squad manuver with an effective base of fire. That will either pin/kill the sniper, or force him to move and then, he's not effective anymore.

Did I just gave you all a way to kill me on the field?

Yes, indeed you do. It's very true about that, you can't just do DMR alone. It just won't work. You need a team to help you out.
