TM M14 "stuff"

Hey ASC, so in the future I plan to buy a TM M14. I will dedicate it as a DMR, and this is my list so far on what I'll need to buy right away.

Externals:
TM M14
5-10 lowcaps
Quality scope with good eye relief
Harris Bipod
Possible cheek raiser
Scope mount

Internals:
6.03 Prometheus tight bore
SCS spacer
quality rubber, haven't decided on which.

I know a key factor for consistent and accurate shots has to to a lot with good compression as well, so what do you guys recommend in regards to that? All in All, I'm looking for very good accuracy, good range, and for it to be quiet!

And yes, I know the M14 is a big gun lol. If the weight get's too hard for me in a day, I'd either switch to my M4 for the rest of the day or buy a sling haha.

Thanks for your opinions!

i think i can help you out with this, since i have the same gun. here is what i got along with what is currently being installed:

Gearbox Internals:
Prometheus Tightbore
Prometheus Spring Guide
Prometheus Hard Piston
ARS POM piston head
ARS Cylinder head with attached sorbo
Prometheus Air nozzel
Reinforced selector arm (Very important IMHO)
Guarder steel cutoff lever (very important IMHO)
Guarder Infinite Torque Motor (gives you instant trigger response)
G&P reinforced mechbox (not really needed)
KM TN Hop-up dial screw (again, not really needed)
M110 spring

Externals:
G&P RIS
Mount your scope on this along with flashlights and everything else for night games and cool shit like that.

For the bipod, i truly recommend against it. It will just add more front weight and is not needed at all.

That setup should give you around 400 fps and will give you ultimate longevity and performance. For scopes, i use a pistol scope with long eye relief. I mount it on my front rail. I use an NC Star Pistolero Series of scopes. Perfect eye relief, adjustable for wind/elevation and adjustable magnification from 2-7x. Dont get the illuminated reticle, its just a waste of money.

You dont need more than 6 lowcaps. I dont even go through all 6 in an entire day.

Hope that helps dude

Thanks man! Since I'm only 16, and obviously I'm no beastly guy that can lug around a 15 pound front heavy M14, I plan on keep the M14 without any RIS. As for the internals, that helps a ton! I forgot to mention I wanted trigger response too. With that motor, would it be necessary to use a high volt battery and run a MOSFET of some sort, or does the motor take care of the response by itself? All in All, how much did your internals run you? As for the bipod, I haven't actually held an M14 yet ( I know I know, I shall first, dont worry.) so I don't know exactly how heavy this thing will be. My clubbmate is going to let me next time I'm out, so I'll see then. If it's already too heavy for me, I could easily scrap the bipod and save some cash.

i wouldn't worry about about a moffset. For a battery, i run a custom made 8.4 volt, 4000 mah battery. At full charge, it gives a voltage reading about 10.4v and can last for 2+ games of playing.

the motor and battery combine, give me literally instant trigger response (comparable to GBB).

you will find that your shoulders will hurt you the most at first. lugging this around will give you a good workout.

Ok, I have another question for you. I plan to add a cheek raiser to my gun, and my plan was using a style like this one: http://www.uncompany.com/pageproduct...sp?prodid=2968

Now, I haven't found one like that specifically FOR the M14, is one even available? If not, what other choices do I have? I only other options I've seen are the butt-pouches, and a material cheek raiser, which didn't interested me.

Anyone ever use one like the one I linked and simply modded it to fit the M14 stock?
