CADPAT fading. Need Help.

Hey guys my CADPAT is fading. The uniform is primarily green so I thought maybe I could dye the fabric with green dye and restore the color a bit. I know it will ruin the tan color, but I doubt that any of the other colors would come out bad only brighter. Right? I've seen dyed ACU's that help make the uniform more tan or more green and it comes out looking ok. Does anyone have any experience dyeing cadpat. Whats the best dye and color to use and does anyone have any pictures of the end result. Thanks guys. If no luck ill just order a new set.

If your gonna order a new set anyway I don't see what you've got to lose.

I'de say go for it, choose a colour which matches your local environment... test a small patch inside a pocket till you find a result your happy with.

i do wash correctly. i have laundry soap specific to all of my uniforms and i always wash it inside out to help preserve the color. I just use the cadpat more frequently than my other uniforms. Its also not completely faded its only fading in high abrasion areas...knees elbows and only slightly everywhere else.

dye will make a green mess of your camo and will not brighten anything

The different Gen's of CADPAT uniforms have varying fade characteristics. There's really no way to slow the fading except perhaps having them drycleaned.

+1

CADPAT will fade like any other fabric. There's no real way to prevent that, or fade-proof fabric would be everywhere on the market. Short of dry cleaning, it will fade no matter what.

nothing last forever

either get comfy with the "time in" look or buy new

Dyeing will make it not Cadpat anymore

I say keep it the way it is. There's nothing wrong with faded knees/elbows. Makes you go faster.
