blackberry pin gundoc group?
hey just curious if anyone is interested in forming a BB messenger gundoc group. It might be good for on the fly trouble shooting especially if someone has a tech problem at a field away from the computer.
The only draw back of this would be it could get just flooded with questions lol. We would just have to have a few people admin. You would have to ask on here to get an invite. Probably limit it to age verified only as well. Anyways your thoughts comments or suggestions? edit: this would also be a great way for gun docs to pick the brains of other gun docs. edit edit: I had no idea where to really post this if admins feel it should be someplace else feel free to move this. |

good idea if you need help on a fly but really annoying for the gundoc. I don't mind helping but if I'm getting 50 bbm everyday, I'll go nuts.

That would require you having a Blackberry, which I don't have.
A lot of people (gundocs) probably don't either. |

Majority of people who own blackberries (especially since the pearl -> Iphone Era) dont actually use them for what they are designed for. They just buy it cause its a "Blackberry". Those of us who use them properly, have every desire to ditch them off hours as much as possible. :. imo its a terrible idea.

not a horrible idea imo, I have a blackberry but I'm not really looking to have a million "why can't i hit the guy 300 meters away" every day.

I think it's a good idea as a "need to use basis" while trying to troubleshoot a gun problem in real time at the field during a game day. As in a desperate back up to this forum, emergency use only. As long as it's used responsibly, I don't mind it. But casual chit chat for the sake of bugging old Stalker, no way. Lol
And I use my BlackBerry Pearl to the maximum I can, GPS, e-mail, messaging, Google, Google Maps......... even occasionally as a phone! Lol |

I go to games to play. BB gets packed away as soon as the car is in park upon arrival...gets looked at next when I fire the car up to head home.
I've seen way too many instances where good gun docs actually don't feel like going to games because they don't want to deal with AEG headaches when they're out for a day of play. Many of the guys are such nice guys that they have a hard time saying no to someone asking for help. I've seen posts of others who have to go to such lengths as to declare in their sign up that they are not bringing any tools with them so don't ask for help...then phuckers (either in jest but I suspect with some truth) offer to bring tools for the guy so he can work on their stuff. Game day is for having fun and getting away from it all...not trying to fumble around with a headache, balancing shit on your knees, dropping screws in dirt/grass.... So if guys need help with troubleshooting and it's not "in-game" then just post it up to ASC/PMs/Dr.Corner...call a local buddy/teammate...do whatever you do now. If someone's down and out "in-game"....then the best thing to do for you, the guy, the host and the rest of the players is to help the guy get sorted out with a spare rifle and get everyone back into play as quick as possible. The last game we were at there was probably a half dozen spare rifles/sets of mags/batteries between the team...and most other teams did the same. A couple of guys already have my BB PIN...but not for this kind of stuff. |

well with BBM you should be able to silence the messages in a group... or at least not partake in the conversation. How its set up right now is you need to be invited to the group. Which means if you start asking people stupid questions they can be booted. Also the great thing about BBM is they can't message you privately if you don't accept the request from them. There for the chat is only limited to the group and thats it.
and as for it being used for chit chat... not what the group is intended for and again... could warrant a boot, if you want to chat with someone in the group take it to a private combo but they have to let you first. BBM>texting |
