Admin Pouches

By hook or by crook...I've ended up having to deal with maps/comms/org for games.

I run a Blackhawk RRV (I think they call it the commando recon harness), with the bib DOWN...I find that running with the bib up ends up with it sticking me in the throat.

So far I've been simply stuffing the maps/sheets folded up down the bib in the mesh pocket on the backside of the rig (meant for holding a plate). In a protective cover it's so-so...but it mangles the maps, wipes off dry-erase markings, smears grease pencel markings and anything paper gets destroyed if not in a plastic sleeve. It's certainly fast enought to access/stash...but there's got to be a better way.

So...I've got the cumberbund area of molle to play with.

What I'd really like is a HSGI Warlord 4 New Version-esque setup...but on the rig I have now (which I really like). And....I don't really want to dump another $200+ on a base rig.

Do you geardos know if something like a Tactical Tailor Enhanced Admin Pouch or the HSGI Mini Modular Admin Pouch would work to do that? Though being that I would put the admin pouch on the rig...then shingle single mag holders (TACOs) on top of it.

In addition to maps/info-sheets...I'd like to be able to store pens/chemlights/flashlight/compass/small knife/little notepad.

Thoughts? Opinions? Options?

I have one of these that I transfer between a few rigs. It attaches with the Velcro strap so you won't loose it if you drop it, yo can fit a field map plus radio freqs and other notes inside for handy reference. You'll see them on eBay cheap.

If you know someone who sews they could turn one out pretty easily. It's just a giant envelope.

This could fit your needs.

Or a smaller version.

Or this one.

Thanks Danke....that's a good alternative. I suppose I could just toss that into the bib or GP pouch.

Thanks Fox...I feel like an goof for not mentioning it because those were three of the ones I was looking at as well.

Has anyone used any of the admin pouches listed here?

I find the Admin Pouch on the Warlords to be one of their best features...
I'd definitely grab one of the HSGI Modular Admin Pouches if I didn't use a Warlord V4.

Pros
- easy to use.
- Map can be placed and set up for your Area right in the pouch
- No need to remove the map for use
- Easy access to Notepads, Pens/Markers, Compass, Etc.

Cons
- Zipper can be a little bit of a pain if you need to close the Pouch in a hurry...
(but that's also why they have the Clip at the top.... so you can clip it shut and worry about the zipper later if need be)

I'm really looking hard at the Warlord V4 New Version...'cause it seems perfect.

The only downsides to going with a new rig altogether are:
- another ~$240 spent on gear
- another rig (I have 5 already...)
- I really like the Blackhawk RRV...it's light/quick and flexible for setting up

I hear ya! The V4 is the second Warlord I've had... (used to have a V1 in CADPAT)
When I decided to change my Loadout to Multicam I went with the V4 cuz I liked the V1 So much... But I wanted one that is Modular.
Anyhoo.
Not saying you should get a whole new rig... I was more suggesting that you go with the Modular Admin pouch. It's Excellent!

Or you could just get a football wrist coach at half the price.

Extra points for looking like a SOF early adopter because we all know if you're going CAG or SEAL having some football talk about what you're doing at the ten yard line or who you're blitzing makes the impression complete.

If I could find those anywhere around here, I'd jump on it. I was suggested that already and I had a look at the sporting good stores and didn't find a damn thing.

Not really, but thanks for jumping to conclusions without knowing me I just don't have space on my rig for an admin pouch. I've had them before, and used em and been quite happy with admin pouches, but I don't have the room on my rig. That wrist strap is my next best bet.

However, it's not meant to go onto a rig so if that's what you're looking for then give this one a pass...

Thanks for the lead! I'll be buying one As for waterproof, I'll probably treat with DWR as I do with everything I own.

Im a huge fan of the Milspec Monkey Admin Pouches.

http://milspecmonkey.com/store/tacti...at-admin-pouch

Its got two flashlight width compartments with elastic webbing, and a third thin compartment in between for papers etc and the outter flap that folds out has a see through sleeve that you can put ID's or maps inside of.

No jumping hiere, those wristbands are a nice use of wasted real estate. I'm surprised you can't find one in Winnipeg, I grew up there and football was always pretty popular back then.
