AEG Springs and FPS
Hi!
I'm pretty new and I have a question about AEG springs and BB FPS. Looking through the airsoft retailer sites in the Toronto area I find a selection of springs that advertise either an increase or decrease in FPS. M110, M120, M130 etc. I've got my eyes on a VFC M4ES that apparently shoots ~430 FPS out of the box which is totally not indoor usable from what I've read on the site. Can I install an M110 spring and have it shoot in the ~350 FPS range making it usable indoors as well as out? Thanks! |

M110 will give you about 380 fps +/-, but if you have a good hop up it can add another 15-20 fps. I recommend a 100 spring for about 350 fps, but then you still run the risk of more fps from your hop up. To be sure it will be good for indoors a M90 spring is your best bet.

I'm going to assume that's a 'Yes' then.
Any idea where I can find an M90 spring? Everything out here is M110 and up. Ideally I'd like to have a couple of springs available in a collection so I can change them for the various FPS limits that games require. |

I think I'll just buy 3-4 different springs and give each one a go to see what their FPS is with my AEG.
Thanks! |

I'm pretty busy and don't normally have time to meet with someone for AV. I'll be attending the TAC12 on the 17th of March and just might get someone to AV me while I'm there.

If you run into Brian there he can help you out with the AVing.

what eeyore said
modify s90 http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=884 modify s110 http://www.airsoftparts.ca/store2/in...roducts_id=886 my $0.02, aim for around 330fps. you will have the benefit of being able to use it indoors without issue, and that's just about the right velocity with some hop for outdoor range too. it's a good balance. sounsd like a good waste of money. don't forget to buy a chrono too!

$15 a spring is nothing. PBCity has a big red chrony onsite. I figure I can use theirs. I also know the owners of Barrie Paintball so I can borrow theirs :dunno: |

I used to think like that too, when I first got started. Then I dove into a mechbox.

If you don't know what a mechbox is your going to have a lot of fun putting in them springs.
