Cant get my gear box out
Hey Guys
I just bought a Velocity Arms - Zombie Killer from here http://torontoairsoft.com/product.php?id_product=1474 and I have removed all of the required pins and such "circled everything in the picture" however the gear box seems to be stuck on the fire mode selector switch. The switch can be toggled from either side of the gun so I don't know if there's a pin through the gear box here that needs to be removed. http://www.flickr.com/photos/76015696@N06/6971820885/ Anyone come across this before or know how I would get it out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

+1 also dont forget to put it on semi... as for the ambi fire selector, im curious about that too, never worked on an m4 with one. Although i can imagine there being a pin of some sort running through the mechbox.

Did you take the motor out of the pistol grip? If you've done those pins then the GB should just slide out.

If your having difficulty figuring it out on your own at this point your FAR beter off finding a gun doc in your area to do this for you.

The VA Zombie Killer appears to be a clone of something VFC and has nearly exactly the same ambidextrous mode selector pin-through-the-mechbox and selector gear arrangement as, for example, the VFC KAC PDW. You may need to remove the ambidextrous mode selector dials to slide the mechbox out of the lower.
BTW, this is the company that produces them: http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/jm-m4-urx-rifle-aeg.html

@Schoolboy - Yes I also removed the buffer tube, motor and pistol grip
@Armen000 - I watched a few vids where it showed to put it on semi first however that doesn't do anything for me. @MaciekA - That does look like the exact same rifle but it would be nice if they had some sort of an exploded diagram... I know a full user manual is a little much to ask of a China gun. |

I might have to take it to a gun doc because I just cant find any info on how to remove the selector switch. Removed the hand grip all together already so it's defiantly not that. Seems to pivot on the selector switch "switch moves with the mechbox" like there's a pin through the mechbox. I'm surprised the ambidextrous switch isn't more common.

Uhh, you have an ambi selector? Yeah, you have to unscrew one side and remove it. Look for a small grub screw on the under side of one of the selector switches. Oh wait, I might be thinking of the mp5 selector

The selector switch has a screw on each side and are both covered by a sort of metal plate that's contoured to the selector switch. If you look closely you should be able to pop the cover off and uncover the screws.

if it is made or a clone of VFC with ambi slector then a look at this part should tell you what you're facing: http://jagprecision.com/store/index....oducts_id=3189

hey have the same gun and the same problem, if you look on the selector switch there is a plate on the top, pry it off with an exacto knife then remove the screw holding it in. after remove the bolt catch on the side of the receiver that has "zombie killer" engraved on it, should be held in by a pin. once all that is out, the gearbox slides right out.
