M4A1 vs. M4A1 RIS
Can someone tell me if i am able to put a Rail Interface System on a M4A1 Retractable Stock gun? I don't know which one I want to buy. The RIS version is more expensive ...If I bought the M4A1, how much would a RIS system cost if i bought it seperatly? Would I be able then to add stuff like lazers, lights and sights on it?

No, i dont believe that you can fit an RIS unit on the TM m4a1 witout modding it. If you buy the M4 RIS it will save you alot of trouble. If you have RIS you can put lazers, lights ect. Sights can be put onto the rail ontop of the reciever. The TM M4RIS also comes with a LAM unit that stores a 8.4v 600mah battery which you may also have to buy if you get a TM M4a1 unless you stick the battery onto the stock.

Yes the M4 RIS has a retractable stock. No the LAM unit does not have a laser. I am not even sure if its called a LAM unit. Pretty sure its called ANPEQ. If you want to see a pic of one, go to any of the retailer websites listed at the top of the sight under "Canadian Retailers"

You should buy the M4 RIS, in the long run it will save you money. If you buy the M4A1 and your looking to convert it to a M4 RIS, yes its possible, however the money that your going to spend to convert it, will probably be the money you could have spent on the M4 RIS or even a bit more.
I had the same dilemna when I bought my M4, in the end I got the M4 RIS and I dont regret it. :P The ICS version has an ANPEQ on it http://www.wgcshop.com/pcart/shopper...e41188b0fb2dea I'm pretty sure the ANPEQ just holds a battery, laser not included. Basically its a replica of a real steel one, most airsoft version its just a large box for you to put your battery in while keeping up with the realism. All M4's should have retractable stocks unless otherwise stated by the seller or dealer. It looks like the ICS M4 RIS has a LE stock too |

What i'm basicly looking for is the ICS M4 with a rails system to attach a lazer and other stuff. I've been doing a search on the forum and there are many mixed opinions. some have attached after market rail system to carry these other accessories. I'm sooooooooo friggen confused :banghead:
What the hell is a M4s system??? |

it's the latest evolution of the m4 from marui. several issues have been resolved thus being the most "stable/solid" m4 out of the box from marui.
check out the retailers cus i think most of them have it in stock right now. |

if you just want to achieve that setup you want. then get the TM M4 RIS. It will be the easiest to acheive your setup.
Personally, i would go for the M4 S-system. 1. It is the newest AEG next to the TM M14 2. They made impovments to certain areas of the AEG 3. the SIR is a solid ABS made design that allows full range of attachments (except M203s, unless you get QD rail attached ones) 4. Its only about an extra $50-$75 more than the older TM M4 RIS. anyway thers probably more Pros and Cons in the review Allstarr posted above.

Let me ask this, looking for realism, ie. metal?
If so, avoid TM. Look at ICS or G&P. |
