Voodoo Tactical "Tac 1" Field Jacket review

Hello again everyone. Today we have for review my new Voodoo Tactical "Tac 1" Field Jacket (20-9380) in sand color. Just purchased last evening from the good people at Shrike Airsoft who are a distributor for Voodoo Tactical. I have purchased numerous Voodoo items and have not been disappointed yet. This jacket will not disappoint either.

As I have mentioned a few times here on the forum I play airsoft and also do a fair bit of camping and hiking, so I like to find items that can be used for either. I'm all about practical stuff that can take a beating and still perform in inclement weather and give me some comfort in the bush. So when Dave advised me of a new clothing product from Voodoo I did not really know what to expect. I know that I get a good product in their gun bags and molle pouches and belts so I was interested.

So I checked out the Field Jacket and on initial inspection I found I loved the look of the jacket. It has a military style similar to UK smocks (I have a few of these, they rock). I wear mil surplus fairly regularly even just out and about on errands so this is a fairly civilian jacket for my style being the solid sand color.

So now to the nuts and bolts of the jacket, build and features:

The outer shell of the jacket is 65% Cotton, 35% Polyester Rip Stop fabric.
Liner is Reissa waterproof fabric, fully taped similar to Gore-Tex liners.

YKK zippers for the main zipper and the chest map pockets.

Two chest pockets with generous bellows, fully lined with Reissa waterproofing.

Two larger waist pockets again fully lined with waterproofing to the exterior surfaces.
Hand pockets behind the lower bellows pockets.

"Canadian" style tape buttons used throughout.
"British" style flaps at the top of the pocket openings.

Drain holes sewn into the bellows pockets.
Drawstrings for adjustment at the waist and bottom of the jacket.
"British" style map/document pockets behind the upper chest bellows pockets.
NATO style rank tab with "Canadian" button and US style velcro rank patch.
Four velcro name tapes above the upper pockets on either side.
One inside pocket on the left side of the jacket.
Double pockets on either sleeve secured with velcro. Pocket outer surface have velcro sewn on to secure morale or Nationality patches.

Epaulettes with "Canadian" buttons.
Generous collar space with a Velcro guard on the left side.
Holster cut outs on both sides with YKK zippers.
The entire back of the jacket from the waist draw to the bottom of the jacket has four rows of Molle to attach whatever items you would like to the jacket.

Padded and reinforced elbows

Velcro adjustment at wrists.

The jacket is very comfortable to wear. It is warm but not too hot.
I cannot wait to use this jacket in the field at the upcoming Sniper Clinic and for a camping trip planned for mid June.

I feel this jacket is a great value for $125. It is available in Sand, OD or black.

I hope you have enjoyed this review.
