I'm a bit worried about running a steel trigger kit, which apparantly is a must have upgrade, with the pot metal bolt. I'm interested in hearing from users as well.

Coming from someone who has put maybe ~8000 rounds through the AK74 (same internals), I can say first that the steel trigger kit is a MUST. Your hammer WILL eventually snap. As for it wearing on the pot metal bolt, yes it will but the bolt is a sizeable piece of metal and should last for a practical amount of time. Just make sure to keep the contact surfaces well lubricated (I recommend SuperLube and silicon oil) and everything should run like butter.

just get it...do not touch it and if it breaks, fix it, if not, well you have saved yourself some money...but it looks like a decent AK...

Airsoftparts currently has them out of stock but thats where I picked mine up from.

And though I didn't do it myself (relied on a local gun doc), someone here did a step by step instruction of how to install it.

Its a great gun. I'm not crazy about the modstock it comes with but that's simply opinion. One thing you may notice out of the box is that the recoil spring has some wiggle or play where it connects to the rear block that holds the cover on. What ends up happening is it will flex slightly which prevents the lock from engaging the cover until you pull the bolt all the way back which physically pushes it into the proper place. You can experiment with shimming so that there is no wiggle left. There's another PMC thread on here where I posted a picture of the problem area. Its pretty obvious what I'm referring to once you've field stripped the gun and put it back together though.

An NPAS does wonders.
